OLYMPIA — A bill that caps annual rent increases at is on its way to Gov. Bob Ferguson's desk after an 11th-hour passage out of conference committee over the weekend.
The final version of House Bill 1217 passed in the House and the Senate on the last day of the Legislature's 105-day session on Sunday. It limits annual rent increases to 7% plus the consumer price index, or 10%, whichever is smaller. Mobile home rents are also capped under the bill, at 5% per year.
