Tacoma approves plan for Tideflats

TACOMA — On Tuesday, the Tacoma City Council approved the Tideflats Subarea Plan for the critical waterfront industrial and manufacturing area in Commencement Bay.

The collaborative plan was developed over the last seven years, and aims to create a coordinated approach to development, environmental review and strategic capital investments in the Tideflats. These 5,000 acres of waterfront land in Commencement Bay are home to Tacoma and Pierce County's highest concentration of industrial and manufacturing activity.
