Cement consumption expected to dip

WASHINGTON — Cement consumption in the U.S. is expected to decline by 1.6% this year, according to the spring market forecast issued by the American Cement Association (ACA). The organization also says it doesn't expect a recession prompted by ongoing trade wars this year.

The ACA released its Market Intelligence team's Spring Forecast at a trade conference earlier this month. Formerly known as the Portland Cement Association, the organization also formally announced its rebranding on May 7.
