Washington down 1,700 construction jobs in Sept.

  • The state's overall unemployment rate remains stable at 4.5%.

    OLYMPIA — The state of Washington lost about 1,700 construction jobs in September, according to information released yesterday by the state Employment Security Department.

    The state's September jobs report showed an overall 14,500 decrease in jobs (a number which is seasonally adjusted), while the unemployment rate remained at 4.5%.
