WSDOT weighs alternate site for closed Carbon River Bridge

The bridge opened in 1921 and closed permanently on April 22 due to deterioration of its steel structure.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has completed its planning study on the Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge and is now considering replacing it at a different nearby location or axing a span there entirely.
