Most cities see dip in construction jobs

WASHINGTON — Most metro areas across the country saw a dip in construction jobs last year, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of recent government employment data.

In Washington state, construction jobs declined by 11,300 (-5%) from December 2024 to December 2025. The Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area saw a loss of 4,800 jobs (-4%).
