Give input on Wenas Wildlife expansion

KITTITAS COUNTY — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife wants public feedback on the purchase of an additional 3,451 acres to expand the Wenas Wildlife Area in Kittitas County.

High elevation and a good water supply allow this area to provide both elk and deer winter range, as well as bighorn sheep habitat and bird habitat for white-headed woodpeckers and loggerhead shrikes. Potential recreational uses include hunting, wildlife viewing, hiking, horseback riding and fishing.
