West Canal Yards opens with new tenants … and ferry service?

Two old industrial buildings along the ship canal have been revamped and rebranded.

On the south side of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, a little east of the Ballard Bridge, Unico Properties and partners bought about 9 acres of industrial property in 2019. Not much happened for the next few pandemic years. Then, as the DJC first reported in 2023, the complex was rebranded as West Canal Yards.
