Housing approved in Stadium District

SEATTLE — A contentious plan to allow affordable/workforce housing in the Stadium District emerged in January, championed by Seattle City Council President Sara Nelson. Zoning changes were proposed for some 50 acres in SoDo, south of the Pioneer Square Preservation District.

The Northwest Seaport Alliance and Port of Seattle immediately announced their opposition to Council Bill 12093, which passed on Tuesday by a six to three council vote.
