SEATTLE — Yesterday, the Port of Seattle filed an appeal in King County Superior Court to overturn the Seattle City Council's decision to allow affordable/workforce housing in the Stadium District.
The area around the stadiums in SoDo, south of Pioneer Square, had been zoned UI (urban-industrial), but with special restrictions against housing. The City Council voted in March to approve the zoning changes, which would permit housing with certain affordability requirements in the district.
