In fast-changing Old Town, 134 Bellingham units will wrap around the state's oldest brick building

The six-story, 134-unit proposal for 1315 D St. had its first design review with the city this week.

Up in Bellingham, the city has been encouraging more residential development in its mostly industrial Old Town area, north of Whatcom Creek. Developers Curt O'Conner and Pete Dawson (of Dawson Construction) bought most of the land once owned by the Parberry family, which ran its Northwest Recycling business there for many decades.
