More details emerge for Kraken Iceplex in Kirkland

The same architect, Generator Studio, also designed the Kraken’s Northgate rinks.

The Houghton Park & Ride closed two years ago because Metro decided it wasn't seeing enough users. Also, Kirkland commuters will be more likely to use the planned Stride S2 rapid bus line from its stop in Totem Lake. The Houghton lot sat on almost 5 acres owned by the state, which sold it to the city of Kirkland early last year for $9 million. (It's now an interim park.)
