Seattle Lighting building in Pioneer Square could become a shelter

Looking northwest over the tracks, the possible addition is outlined.

What most call the Seattle Lighting building, at 222 Second Ave. Ext. S., is a two-part structure on its own little triangle in Pioneer Square. The business and property have long been owned by the Funsinn and Schomer families and their descendants. There were rumors last year the property was on the market. (It's not publicly listed.) The century-old business also has an outpost in SoDo.
