Twenty bucks was the declared sales price at 2119 Second Ave., with the seller being the nonprofit mental-health services provider Sound. As the DJC reported in September, Sound had a demo permit in hand for the over century-old El Rey apartments, with plans to sell the bare land. Its neighbor to the south, the nonprofit arts organization Common Area Maintenance, had previously expressed an interest in buying, as The Stranger reported this spring.
