Carter continues its Ballard building bonanza

The Carter Subaru and Volkswagen complex continues to expand and modernize. If you service your cars there, or have shopped there recently, you'll know the new Subaru service building — which replaced the old Ballard Food Bank — on the east side of Leary Way. That renovation was completed this year, east of the main Subaru complex, on what used to be the VW side of Leary.

Also in planning from all the same parties, is a renovation/addition job farther east at 5128 Russell Ave. N.W. That old industrial building, on the corner of Northwest Ione Place, has been owned by the car dealership for a decade. Developed in 1950, the one-story building now spans about 16,236 square feet.
