Vacant glass factory sells for $23M

SEATTLE — The shuttered Ardagh Glass plant, at 5801 E. Marginal Way S., sold this week for $23 million, according to King County records. The seller was Ardagh's corporate parent, which is based in Indianapolis. Under a different name, it acquired the property in 1995 for almost $5.4 million. The plant closed toward the end of 2024, as has been reported, with some 245 jobs lost.

The buyer was Green Start Seattle LLC, which is associated with Connecticut investors including PPL Group, a specialist in industrial asset liquidation. No new plans have been filed.
