South Shopping Centre at White Rock

Location: White Rock, British Columbia, Canada

Project team: Charles Plastering, wall and ceiling contractor; Chandler and Associates, architect; Pacific West Systems Supply, supplier; Imasco Minerals and Insulfoam, manufacturers

The South Shopping Centre at White Rock is a nine-building addition to an existing outdoor mall in the South Surrey/White Rock area. With a total of 77 shops and services, the mall is considered to be one of the largest in British Columbia with more than 630,000 square feet of shopping area.

Judge’s comment: “By using a number of different color schemes and designs on the exterior surfaces, the architect and plastering contractor were able to produce colorful and pleasing individual stores, getting away from the typical all-the-same shopping center look.”
