Safety training at BNBuilders starts with a thorough safety orientation and continues every week at tool box meetings that include vendors and trainers for special topics. Each supervisor is required to complete OSHA 10-hour training and it is verified in their annual review. BNBuilders’ supervisors attend monthly safety training breakfasts to receive up-to-date safety information and regulation changes. The company recognizes individuals by presenting awards for being injury free, attending safety meetings and promoting safety on projects. An additional quarterly bonus and safety lunch are provided when the company is injury free for the entire quarter. Employees are involved in the safety program by assisting in safety audits on a rotating basis and developing job hazard analyses with supervisors. Employees are empowered from the time they are hired to provide input for improving safety practices and correcting safety issues. Each year BNBuilders looks at its injury and near-miss log to identify trends and develop best practices to minimize the risk of repeat injuries and incidents. |
