There was a tie in the Residential category between the James house in Woodinville and a pool and spa pavilion at a Pierce County home.
Two complementary integral colors of concrete, cranbrook and burgundy, were developed to go with the natural gray at the James house. The cranbrook colored concrete was used for the railing top cap and base and for all steps, including both interior and exterior curved stairways. It also was used for the driveway name and address light standards, a circular pond walkway and curved sidewalks. Other concrete details included windowsills, benches and numerous small countertops in the library, master bedroom and living room.
Colored concrete on the pool and spa project features vertical score lines and a light sandblast finish to achieve its architectural look. The same colored concrete was used for pavers, 12-sided exterior columns and structural walls.
