The project included $840,000 of mechanical and plumbing applications to a remodeled 65,000-square-foot building and a new 55,000-square-foot addition to the remodeled building. The building incorporates several different types of uses, ranging from executive offices, conference rooms and engineering offices to combined marketing and assembly, production offices and lunchrooms. To manage the various temperature and exhaust requirements of Fatigue’s multi-use facility, Merit installed a Novar Energy Management System. The front of the visually aesthetic building has bow-shaped steel roof trusses spanning more than 30 feet that create a distinctive open ceiling, but presented the challenge of installing special framing from which VAV boxes could be hung. Close coordination with the architect, a pre-design evaluation of existing equipment and value engineering lowered construction costs and provided a low-energy heating and ventilation system. |
