Business in the Seattle market is energizing,” said President Mark Weisman, who celebrates the 20th anniversary of his firm this year. Staff size at the Weisman Design Group is 18 people this year — the same as last year. Business volume last year was up from 2001.
The firm cultivates commercial, governmental, educational, institutional and residential markets along with various specialties including water features, sustainable design, retirement housing, synthetic and natural sports fields, and development of master plan communities.
Projects
- Department of Homeland Security Seattle Regional Office, Tukwila, for DHS/Sabey is an intensely developed site to meet the needs of the Department of Homeland Security.
- Museum of Flight expansion, Tukwila, involves numerous small landscape projects in addition to the site itself.
- Snoqualmie Ridge, Snoqualmie, for Quadrant Corp., is a parks master plan and buffer analysis for a development expansion in addition to numerous design projects.
- Northwest Landing, DuPont, for Quadrant Corp., is getting its first urban retail development as well as parks design.
- Redmond Ridge and Trilogy, for Quadrant Corp. and Shea Development, involves the design of public and private spaces, recreation facilities, signage, water features and a golf clubhouse.
- Lakeland, Auburn, for Polygon Northwest, is a mix of housing types, as well as some redevelopment for a master-planned housing community.
- Bush School, Seattle, involves the design of a complex school program on a small intensely developed site, with architect Miller Hull.
- 1020 Tower, Bellevue, involves working with the city of Bellevue and Su Development to design a joint-use plaza and transition to an adjacent park at the base of a residential high-rise.
- Bonney Lake High School, designed with Erickson McGovern Architects, is a new high school for the Sumner School District on 40 acres.
