Ad 2 Seattle invites new members to join this year's Public Service Campaign. Participant's select a client, create the advertising campaign and coordinate production and airing of media. The campaign is designed to benefit a local non-profit organization. Ad 2 is an organization of young professionals in advertising under the age of 32, who pool their creative talents to benefit a local non-profit organization. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers recognized 68 individuals at its recent annual meeting held in San Antonio, Texas. Locally, Roderick R. Kirkwood of John Graham Assoc. DLR in Seattle won the Distinguished 50-Year Member Award, and Richard A. Evans of Richland and Ralph M. Mattison of Northwest Natural Gas Co. in Portland received the Distinguished Service Award.

Telect Control Products of Liberty Lake, Wash., has been awarded the security control system contract to refurbish the command center at the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. The park is the home of the Declaration of Independence, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and 48 other historic buildings. Telect designs and manufactures voice, fiber, power, professional audio/video, and electronic monitoring and control equipment, and custom cable assemblies for industries worldwide.
Phoenix Gold International, Portland, has hired Kurt Ruttum as vice president and general counsel. Ruttum will join Phoenix Gold on Oct. 1. Phoenix Gold is a designer and manufacturer of accessories, electronics and speakers for the cars, homes and professional sound markets.

InControl, Inc. has named Gregory Ayers, M.D., Ph. D. as vice president of clinical research. Ayers will continue to develop and manage studies designed to assess patients treated with InControl's Metrix implantable atrial defibrillator and will be more directly involved in the world-wide clinical evaluation and assessment of the Metrix System. Based in Redmond, InContol develops new therapies for atrial rhythm management and is working with medical researchers worldwide to advance the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
Roger Wright, property manager, Wright Runstad & Co., Bellevue, recently received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.

Metawave Communications Corp. has hired James "Jay" Daley as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Headquartered in Redmond, Metawave Communications Corporation designs, manufactures and markets multibeam antenna systems and engineering services that enable wireless communications service providers to optimize call quality, coverage and capacity.
Glumac International, a full service engineering firm, has added five new employees to its electrical engineering department. Matt Dorsey has joined as senior electrical designer. He will be responsible for creating detailed designs of electrical systems and equipment as well as for construction administration. Judy Ebmeyer has been hired as electrical project manager. Ebmeyer will work closely with clients by attending job meetings, designing electrical systems, supervising projects and installation and following up on projects. Dan Steinert and Tahir Khalil both join as electrical designers. Steinert will work with electrical design and coordination, and construction drawings. He will also specialize in lighting projects. Khalil will assist the project manager with designing electrical systems and the CAD team with drafting. Mike Hamrick has been hired as an electrical design technician. He will be responsible for project coordination, client and owner relations, compilation of design data and production of construction documents. Glumac International provides mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, energy and acoustical engineering services. The firm has offices in Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Madrid.
On the Boards, a Seattle theater and performance company, has purchased the A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) building at North Roy Street and First Avenue West. The price was $1.6 million. The company plans to replace the theater's thrust stage with a proscenium stage and revamp the building's street-level spaces on Roy to include 5,000 square feet of retail. It will take over the building when ACT moves this fall to the renovated Eagles Auditorium downtown. On the Boards' first performance season in its new home won't come until 1997.
