Hornall Anderson

The Seattle firm of Hornall Anderson Design Works has hired Chris Sallquist as director of online media. He will be responsible for overseeing design and production of online-based media, including Web sites, online kiosks and multi-media development.

SDL/McCarthy

Frank Stauff and Micky Doner have been promoted to project managers at SDL/McCarthy in Bellevue. Stauff graduated from the University of Washington in 1992 and worked for SDL/McCarthy as an intern while in school. He has spent the past five years as a project engineer. Doner has been with the company for six years, first as a project scheduler and most recently as a project engineer.

Fluor Daniel plans a coming out party

PASCO -- Fluor Daniel Hanford Inc. is inviting suppliers of environmental services and products to visit the Tri-Cities area and meet members of the Project Hanford Management Contractor team. A day of speeches, technical workshops and hobnobbing is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at the TRAC exhibition facility, 6600 Burden Blvd., Pasco. The event will inform owners and managers of environmental firms about opportunities to do business with the Project Hanford team. Technical representatives and buyers who represent the team will be on hand throughout the day. Featured speakers will include retired Lt. Gen. Henry "Hank" Hatch, president and CEO of Fluor Daniel Hanford, and John Wagoner, manager of Richland operations for the U.S. Department of Energy. The Energy Department awarded a five-year, $4.88 billion contract to the Fluor Daniel Hanford team to manage the Hanford nuclear reservation in August. Fluor Daniel took over cleanup operations from Westinghouse Hanford Co. on Oct. 1. Major subcontractors on the Project Hanford team include Babcock & Wilcox Hanford, Duke Engineering & Services Inc., DynCorp Tri-Cities Services Inc., Lockheed Martin Hanford Corp., Numatec Hanford Corp. and Rust Federal Services of Hanford Inc. Enterprise subcontractors include Fluor Daniel Northwest, B&W Protec and Lockheed Martin Services Inc. Admission cost of $25 a person for the Nov. 6 event includes Continental breakfast and lunch. Sinclair Technologies, Inc.

Sinclair Technologies, Inc., a multinational corporation specializing in the design, engineering and distribution of antenna systems, filters and multicoupling systems, has opened its Northwest regional office in Bellevue. David Schaan will act as the Pacific Northwest regional manager. Sinclair has offices located in the U.S., the United Kingdom and Canada.

ReMax Masters

Steve Tarabochia, vice president/designated broker of RE/MAX Masters in Everett, announced that James Teno and Gary Buhr have joined the office as associate brokers. CPL

Bryan Collons has joined the firm of Coughlin Porter Lundeen as a structural engineer. Collons brings commercial, large industrial, and public project experience to CPL. Current CPL projects Collons is working on include the Quadrant Lake Union Center, Central Way Plaza, High Street Terrace, and the Brezza Condominiums. Other new CPL staff member include: Garo Pehlivanian, structural engineer; Sean King, structural CAD technician; Brian Lampe, structural engineer; Bob Pack, structural CAD technician; and Scott Steinmetz, civil CAD technician.

AKB

AKB Engineers, Inc. has hired Thomas Reisdorff as senior civil engineer. Residorff has over 11 years of civil engineering experience, having begun his career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Viet Nam working on road and airstrip projects. He served most recently as utility engineer for the City of Marysville. Reisdorff is currently performing civil engineering services on projects at Olympic College New Campus Design in Poulsbo, Pierce College and Maple Lane School. Noel Baca recently joined AKB Engineers as structural engineer. Baca has pioneered the design of prototype machinery and robotics equipment resulting in a mastery of various structural design parameters. His expertise also includes proficiency in the construction process which has made him an expert at planning for efficient constructability and design strategies. He has also written design programs including several frame stress modulars for AutoCAD. Baca is currently performing seismic retrofit design on such projects as Green Hill School Rehabilitation Phase I project, Sunny Jim Building for the City of Seattle, Seattle City Light's Building A, and 12 City of Seattle fire stations.

Hedges & Roth

Hedges & Roth Engineering, Inc. (H & R) has hired KokWah Tung as design engineer to its Bellevue office. Tung has 14 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, specializing in general civil engineering, transportation and water resource engineering. Tung brings extensive experience to the firm with his background from Washington State Department of Transportation and numerous large projects he performed back in the Eastern United States. Tung is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire. In addition to his experience in the U.S., he has performed engineering services in the Malaysia and Brunei.

PAE

PAE Consulting Engineers, Inc. has hired Barbara Hamilton as a lighting designer. Hamilton recently earned her masters of science degree in Lighting at the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute which is to be conferred in December. Her current projects include Label Graphics and the Portland International Airport.

Entranco

Kevin Hinckley has joined Entranco as a structural engineer. Hinkley brings 11 years of expertise in the design of bridges and other transportation facilities. Currently, he is the project engineer for the structural design of a 200-foot long bridge associated with improvements to 142nd Avenue East in Sumner. Jeff Faunce has joined Entranco's construction services unit. Faunce will provide construction management for roadway design projects. His experience includes supervising construction staff, and managing and coordination construction sites. Faunce has provided construction management services for East Marginal Way and the 51st Street Bridge, both located in Tukwila, and for NE Andresen Road, as part of the firm's on-call construction management services agreement with Clark County. Joe Willis and Jim Huber join Entranco as new surveying staff. Willis joins as a party chief with experience in Global Positioning Systems (GPS), construction staking, boundary, and topographic surveying. His project work at Entranco includes serving as survey party chief for construction staking services for Quadrant Willows Corporate Center in Redmond, and providing horizontal and vertical control for aerial mapping of Capital Lake in Olympia. Huber, a registered Land-Surveyor-in-Training, has specialized experience in construction staking, survey field calculation, and boundary and topographic surveys and mapping. While at Entranco, he has participated in projects including: the 51st Avenue South Bridge in Tukwila; a new watermain along East Marginal Way in Tukwila; and Brighton's Landing and Belvedere Park Residential Development in King County. Angel Wilcox, a registered Engineer-in-Training, comes to Entranco's environmental services unit after an internship with the City of Tukwila's Public Works Department. She has worked on a variety of civil and environmental projects since joining Entranco, including designing the pipe alignment and capacity for drainage improvements associated with the widening of SR 99 in Lynnwood, and providing design services for the reclamation of an abandoned gravel pit for stormwater management use in Pierce County. Barbara Alder brings four years of experience to Entranco's accounting department, where she will be responsible for client invoicing, and assist with payroll. She previously worked as accountant for SVR Design Company where she acted as the firm's bookkeeper/office manager.
