Xypoint, a Seattle-based firm specializing in using wireless technology to locate mobile people and objects, has appointed Gregg Blodgett vice president and chief financial officer. Blodgett, a public accountant, will be responsible for accounting, administration, human resources, risk management and treasury functions. Ralph Belton and Christopher Larson have been promoted to principals in the Seattle office of NBBJ. Belton joined the firm in 1992. Since then he has worked on the Seattle Baseball Stadium and Key Arena. Prior ot joining NBBJ, he was employed by CRSS in Houston. Larson's projects include Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Children's Hospital in San Diego, and Burger King Corporation World Headquarters. Gary Schaefer has joined NBBJ as a senior associate is currently working on the world headquarters of Reebok International Ltd. Scott Johnson has joined the firm as an associate. Prior to joining NBBJ, Johnson was a senior associate at Bassetti Architects.
Ken Buss, Dan Mageau and Tom Tobin have been promoted to the level of principal at GeoEngineers' Redmond office. Buss has been with the firm for nine years. He specializes in geologic hazards. Clients include the U.S. Fish & Wildlife and the City of Everett. Mageau has also been with GeoEngineers for nine years. His experience includes the seismic design and retrofit of foundations for projects such as the Elliot Bay Marina and a seismic evaluation study for the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Tobin has been with GeoEngineers for six years, and has worked in stormwater management, roadways, and a variety of commercial and industrial developments.
Issa K. Sarsour of Interface Engineering in Kirkland recently passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (E.I.T.) examination and plans to take his professional engineering examination this year. He has been working on the Factoria Square Mall, Nestle Training Centers, Thrifty Foods, The Bon Marche, Sega Game Works and the Gates Estate.
Chuck Crane has joined ALSC in Spokane as a project architect. He is currently working on the new Quincy Elementary School and Quincy High School Modernization & Addition. Tom Wagner has also joined the staff as an architect, and he will be working on the new Quincy Elementary School.

Bozell/Seattle president Pete Hatt was named to Bozell Worldwide's Management Board. Hatt, formerly CEO of Borders, Perrin & Norrander, received the appointment after he helped engineer the merger between Borders, Perrin & Norrander and CF2GS, forming Bozell/Seattle. With 70 employees and estimated 1998 billings of $75 million, Bozell/Seattle is among the top three advertising agencies in the Seattle region.
Construction & Tunneling Services Inc. has been awarded ISO 9001 certification. The Kent-based company is a single-source technical supplier for the design, manufacture and service of hard rock tunnel boring machines and back-up systems.
Ahed Shakhsheer has been hired as director of construction at Aviation Facilities Co. Inc. The McLean, Va.-based company is a developer of air cargo facilities throughout the country, including Sea-Tac Airport. Shakhsheer will oversee construction and engineering activities at all new AFCO projects and any expansions to its existing facilities.
