Ferguson

Ferguson Construction has brought on board several new employees. Raymond Burdick and Greg Williams have joined as project engineers, and Mary Warthin has rejoined the company to provide on-site project management. Burdick is working on a Home Depot store in Bellingham, Williams is doing an addition for Costco Wholesale and Warthin is assisting with a Home Depot store in Silverdale. Williams is a graduate of California Polytechnic Institute and Burdick is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Both have over five years of experience in construction. Warthin has over 25 years of industry experience.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Three new accounting staff members were recently hired at Lease Crutcher Lewis. Tom Dilts is the company's new controller, Sue Bernardo is its accounting supervisor and Phil Ogdee is its accounting manager. Dilts has 16 years of accounting and finance experience, and holds a masters' degree in finance and bachelor's degree in economics, both from the University of Illinois. Bernardo holds a degree in finance from the University of Hawaii, and Ogdee holds a bachelor's degree from Pan American University. Both hold CPA designations.

Norman B. Sandler Architects

Elisabeth Beers, interior design principal at Norman B. Sandler Architects, received the 1998 Gold Award of Excellence for Residential Design from the Washington State Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Beers earned the award based on the interior design of a residence in Phoenix.

Showplace Design and Remodeling

Bruce and Becky Kelleran, owners of Showplace Design and Remodeling in Redmond, are celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their business. Showplace specializes in kitchen and bath remodeling.

Hart Crowser promotes Doug Hillman

SEATTLE -- Doug Hillman has been promoted to the position of manager of industrial and remediation services at Hart Crowser Inc., a Seattle environmental consulting and remediation design firm. Hillman is a senior associate hydrogeologist and a technical project manager at Hart Crowser. He is now responsible for managing the scientific staff of Hart Crowser's industrial and remediation services group. That staff includes chemists, geochemists, hydrogeologists and civil, chemical and environmental engineers. Hillman says his group will work with clients to blend cleanup activities at contaminated sites with redevelopment plans.

Anchor Environmental hires new staff

SEATTLE -- Tina Fahy and Lee Barras have joined the staff of Anchor Environmental LLC, a Seattle environmental and geotechnical consulting firm that specializes in aquatic-based remediation and waterfront redevelopment projects. Fahy is a fisheries biologist with experience in assessing contaminated sediments and associated impacts on fish. Barras is a senior designer who specializes in dredging, coastal and waterfront design. Anchor Environmental is working on projects throughout the Puget Sound area and in Kodiak, Alaska, Lavaca Bay, Texas, Duluth Harbor in Minnesota and on the Missouri River in Nebraska.

HOK

Adrian Lam has joined the Redmond office of Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK) as an architectural designer. He has a variety of project experience, including tenant improvements, space planning and complete interior design services. Anastasia Allison has joined the office with interior design and space planning experience. She is currently on the project team that provides space planning, interior design and tenant improvement services to Microsoft. Ray Limonadi has joined HOK as a project architect. He is currently part of the design teams for Marriot Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Bellevue and the Twin Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, Ore. Mia Marshal has joined the firm as an interior designer. She has experience as a space planner and also as a furniture designer, lighting designer and model maker. She is currently providing interior design services for Microsoft, and has recently completed the new offices for HOK in the historic Justice White House in Redmond.

AGI

Dean White has been promoted to principal engineer at AGI Technologies (AGI) in Bellevue. He has been with the firm for three years, and is in charge of AGI's geotechnical engineering services. He is currently providing overall geotechnical project management for the proposed Third Runway at Sea-Tac International Airport. Curtis Cross has joined the firm as a staff engineer. He is working on closure plans for a landfill in Texas. Melanie Swanson has also joined the firm as a staff engineer, and comes to AGI from Fluor Daniel GTI. She is working on industrial wastewater treatment and stormwater drainage systems for sites in California and Oregon. Michael Hutchinson has joined the firm as a geologist and will work on hydrocarbon remediation projects throughout Washington. Chase Barton, also a geologist, has joined the firm to manage AGI's in-house soils physical properties testing laboratory. Wayne Rice has joined AGI as a laboratory technician, developing treatment processes and testing chemical monitoring devices.

Northwest

The Spokane office of Northwest Architectural Co. has advanced Keith M. Comes and William W. Rash to associate principals and Dana L. Harbaugh and Barnet G. Harding to the level of associate. Comes joined the firm in 1992 and has specialized in higher education, technology facilities and health care facilities. He is currently lead architect for the Animal Disease Technology Facility at Washington State University. Rash has been in the Spokane office since 1991. His experience includes health care, advanced technology buildings, higher education and military traffic control towers. He is currently leading design for multi-phased renovations at Eastern State Hospital. Harbaugh joined the firm in 1994 and has specialized in education and justice facilities. Recent projects include the Washington State Court of Appeals Building and the AAA Administrative Building. Harding, who joined the firm in 1992, has worked on elementary schools, banking facilities and health care facilities. Recent projects include a high school in Spokane and Deaconess Hospital Health and Education Center.

Otak

Jerry O'Connell has joined Otak Inc. of Kirkland as a project manager. He was most recently a project manager with Weber Engineering in Eugene, Ore. Kevin Kraxberger has joined the firm as an engineer in training. He recently worked with the City of Longview as a junior civil engineer. Jennifer Lutes has also joined the firm as an engineer-in-training. After receiving a degree in hydrology and water resources from the University of Arizona, she was a project engineer with Van Cleef Engineering Associates in Whippany, N.J.

Interface

Guy Mackenzie has joined Interface Engineering as a mechanical designer. A recent graduate of Montana State University, he is now working on John Muir and Helen Keller elementary schools and Whatcom County Fire District No. 7. Joe Cadden has joined the firm as a senior electrical designer and is now at work on the Tacoma Pre-release Facility, a Tacoma Fire Station, Gig Harbor Retail Center and Riverside Assisted Living Facility. Mark Gemeinhardt, a senior mechanical engineer and project manager, specializes in primary and secondary education facilities. Now that he has joined Interface, he is at work on two elementary schools, Sunrise Health Care, Cineplex Odeon Theater and Staples Office Supplies.

Architekton

Manuel Najarro has joined the staff of Architekton as lead HTML programmer. He will be managing the development and maintenance of Architekton's web-based design and construction document distribution systems. Manuel's previous position was with Northwest College. Ben Liston has joined Architekton as an intern CAD specialist for the PCS Design Group. He is a recent graduate of the ITT Technical Institute in Seattle. Aaron Hermanutz has joined the firm as an Intern CAD Specialist for Architekton's Food Service Design Group. Aaron is a recent graduate of the ITT Technical Institute in Seattle. Jacob Carroll has joined Architekton as an Intern CAD Specialist for Architekton's Retail Petroleum Design Group. Jacob is a recent graduate of the ITT Technical Institute in Seattle.
