Berger/ABAM

Elizabeth Davey has joined Berger/ABAM Engineers Inc. as a structural engineer in the company's Federal Way office. Davey specializes in the analysis of bridge structures under seismic loading. Her current assignments include the Kingston Ferry Terminal improvements project for the Washington State Ferries and a concrete composite pier project for the U.S. Navy. Prior to joining Berger/ABAM, Davey was a bridge design engineer with the firms WestMar Consultants and Buckland and Taylor in Vancouver, B.C. She received her master's degree from the University of British Columbia in structural engineering. Nichole Brown has joined Berger/ABAM as an AutoCAD operator. Prior to joining Berger/ABAM, Brown worked as an engineering intern with the cities of Tacoma and Lakewood. She holds an associate's degree in civil engineering technology from Bates Technical College in Tacoma. Daniel Vos has joined the firm as a structural engineer. Vos' background includes the planning, design and construction support for site development, transportation, waterfront and water resources projects. Prior to joining Berger/ABAM, he was a civil engineer with the county of Kent in Michigan. He received his master's degree in structural engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Nancy Ferry has joined the firm as an administrative clerk. Prior to joining the company, Ferry worked as an administrative assistant for Morgan Design, an engineering and technical placement firm in Tukwila.

DLR Group

DLR Group, a national and architectural and engineering firm with a local office in Seattle, is ranked No. 1 among "largest firms in criminal justice," according to the 1999 World Architecture Survey of the 500 largest architectural/design firms. DLR's projects include Women's Medium Prison and Statewide Intake Center for the Oregon Department of Corrections; the Bellevue Police and Forensic ID Lab; the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab; and the Auckland Central Remand in Auckland, New Zealand. DLR is an employee-owned company with more than 500 employees located in 20 offices across the United States. Lori Coppenrath, a criminologist and trained psychologist, has joined the DLR Group Justice Team. Doug Holton, a mechanical engineer, joins the firm after eight years of service in the U.S. Navy. Holton is working on several corporate projects, including mechanical work for The Boeing Co., Unico Properties and Flaming Wok Restaurants. Robert Kuchcinski, a mechanical engineer, is assisting with the completion of the Seattle School District Support Services Center. He will soon be the project manager for tenant improvements at the new Fossil store at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. Milton Perque Jr., from the University of New Orleans, joins the firm as an electrical engineer.

Laylah Muran has been hired as the project administrator for the firm's Seattle Criminal Justice Team. Colleen Terry joins the firm as the project administrator for its Educational Design Studio Team. The firms' summer interns include Amy Walz, an architectural intern from Montana State University School of Architecture, and Aaron Seaholm, a mechanical engineering intern from the University of Texas Pan-America. A student with an interest in architecture from the University of San Diego, Angela Berry, joins the firm for the summer.

David Evans and Associates

Michael Davolio has recently been promoted to the position of planning director for the entire firm. Nancy Ryan has joined David Evans and Associates as a senior planner and project manager. Ryan previously operated her own consulting business, providing urban planning, development and environmental consulting services for public and private clients in Western Washington since 1986. She has a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Washington.

Reid Middleton

Jeff Lundt has joined Reid Middleton Inc. as a senior engineer for the firm's civil projects group. Previously, Lundt worked as a project manager for Symonds Consulting Engineers of Seattle. Over his 22 years of experience, he has engineered site and water resource projects and has designed utilities, storm water management, water supply and waste water treatment systems. He holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Oregon State University.

Hart Crowser

Richard Rinne, a certified engineering geologist, has joined Hart Crowser's office in Portland, leading all investigation, design and remedial construction oversight of landslides. He will also be the firm's senior geologist for large, campus-type developments. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in geology from Oregon State University. Stuart Albright has also joined Hart Crowser's office in Portland. Albright will lead the company's foundation engineering and excavation support team in Oregon, southwest Washington and northern California, focusing on transportation projects, such as seismic upgrades of bridges and urban development. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Portland State University and a master's degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University. Also joining Hart Crowser is Jeff Duquette who will be working on a variety of foundation, excavation, transportation and landslide projects. Duquette has done site exploration and soil-related testing for the construction of Wal-Mart in Beaverton, Ore. He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University and his master's degree from Portland State University.

Roth Hill

Peter Super has joined Roth Hill Engineering Partners Inc. in Bellevue as a project technician. Super received a degree in environmental science from Washington State University.

CNA

John Bund has joined CNA Architecture as senior architect. As senior architect, Bund will lead the production of technical documents for Intracorp's buildings at the Seaway Center in Everett and assist with the construction of Zelman Development's Oaksdale Business Campus in Renton. Prior to joining CNA, Bund worked for Demetriou & Associates in Kirkland and before that, RHL Design Group in Bellevue. His previous architecture and design experience includes the remodeling of and addition to the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, Calif. He attended California Polytechnic University in Ponoma.

Mirai

Jana Janarthanan has joined Mirai Associates as principal in charge of traffic modeling and forecasting. Also joining the firm are: Lisa Northey, an associate, who was the design engineering manager with the city of Bellevue; and Michael Lapham, a transportation planner, who is from Portland State University.

NBBJ

Tom Morton has joined NBBJ to further the firm's presence in Europe. Morton was the association principal for Callison Architecture, working as a corporate studio design lead on Hewlett Packard manufacturing buildings in California and Colorado. He earned a bachelor's degree in art and urban studies at Dartmouth College and master's degree in architecture from Yale University.

CADD Consulting Services

Dana Scott has resigned from CADD NorthWest Inc. to establish CADD Consulting Services Inc., a business based in Kent that will offer computer-aided drafting and plotting services, contract labor, CADD training, systems and networking and customization services.
