Dr. Eugene B. Welch joined the Seattle office of Tetra Tech as a senior aquatic scientist. Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, Welch brings over 40 years of experience in water quality and fisheries investigations. He is past president of the North American Lake Management Society as well as the Washington State Lake Protection Association and has authored two college textbooks on aquatic restoration and lake and reservoir management. Merri Martz joins the group full-time as a senior biologist. Martz has a masters of Marine Affairs/Wetland Ecology and over nine years of biology, environmental coordinator and planning experience. Martz is the senior biologist for contracts involving environmental services.
Tetra Tech ISG a division of Tetra Tech, Inc., is a full service civil and environmental engineering firm focusing on surface water quantity and quality management.
EDAW has announced several new promotions and new hires. Mark Brands has been promoted to senior associate. He is a landscape architect specializing in urban design and land planning with an emphasis on sustainable development practices. He recently returned from the firm's Sydney, Australia, office. Kevin Butterbaugh is also being promoted to senior associate. He is an environmental planner and senior project manager specializing in resource management, land use and recreation planning. Liza MacKinnon has been promoted to associate. She is office manager and works in document and graphic production. New hires are Jim Keller, a landscape architect with a focus on campus design, master planning and municipal facilities. He is project manager for EDAW's work on the East Capitol Campus plaza. Jason Diedrick has joined the firm as a recreation planning specialist, currently working on the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Washington, the Priest Rapids Hydroelectric Project on the Columbia River and the Pelton Round Butte Hydroelectric Project in Oregon. Alvin Tang is a new landscape designer with the firm and Jo Bellflower has rejoined the firm as financial manager.
Information Architects of Poulsbo announced the installation of the new WaterWare utility billing system at King County Water District No. 20. The new system will manage the financial and historical meter consumption transactions for more than 8,000 customers. Information Architects develops and supports software for businesses.

Robert Hoffman has been appointed principal in DLR Groups Seattle office. Hoffmans 14-year career with DLR Group began in the firms Tampa office. Hoffman is working on projects for The Boeing Co. and Amazon.com.
Jay Gelose is a mechanical designer with 20 years of experience. His focus is on business development in the corporate/retail design markets.
Steve McKay is a team manager with professional experience in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean, in both the public and private sectors.
Kimberly Paulson is a mechanical engineer and project manager. Her experience includes HVAC design, project engineering and the creation of company-wide design standards. She is a project manager in the corporate design studio.
Larry Seeley, a DLR employee of 25 years, has worked on sports, medical, educational, office, housing and industrial projects. He has experience in numerous aspects of project development including zoning and code research, fee proposals, budgeting and bidding.
Promoted to associate are Ivan Chabra, Deborah Conway, Theresa Daniel, Steven Gray, Sarah Kontny, Mike Mackie, LeAnn Mercer, Joe Millsaps and David Walsh.
Gregory Jellison, a senior engineer with Hopper & Dennis, has been promoted to a principal of the company. Jellison has been with the company since 1996 as a project manager and coordinator for several large public projects.
Hopper & Dennis is a civil engineering, traffic engineering and planning firm based in Vancouver.
Ross Whitehead has joined Schreiber & Lane Architects in Seattle as a project architect. Prior to joining the firm, Ross served as project manager for ECI General Contractors. His projects include Seaview Elementary School in Edmonds, the Submarine Weapons Systems Shop in Everett and the "Fremont Troll," a local landmark in Seattle.
Whitehead will join the design team working on the new Plant Services Building for Olympic College in Bremerton and will lead the restoration of the historic Raymond Post Office.
Sally Cox was hired as the corporate marketing manager in GeoEngineer's Redmond office. She has 13 years of experience as a marketer in the architectural and engineering industry.
Tosha Vandegrift was promoted to senior marketing and proposal coordinator at the firm.
Sharae Nelson was promoted to marketing coordinator.
Leah Benson was promoted to senior corporate communications coordinator.

Gerry Jones has been named chief executive officer of Parametrix and a member of the company's board of directors. He joined the firm in 1998 and worked as the office manager of its corporate headquarters in Sumner. Prior to joining the firm, Jones was the city of Seattles director of Neighborhood Planning.
Jeff Peacock was named vice president and director of environmental and infrastructure services. Formerly manager of the transportation business line, Peacock joined the company in 1989 as a design engineer.
Mel Sears was named vice president and chief operations officer. He managed the company's Portland regional operations for about four years.

Brad Shinn has been named senior associate of Susan Black and Associates, a landscape architectural firm in Seattle.
Shinn has more than 12 years of experience developing public involvement programs for public and private sector clients. He specializes in water resources and transportation planning and construction.
