Lucie Rochon, director of human resources, has recently been promoted to officer and vice president of human resources for Mulvanny Architects. She has 20 years of experience in the human resources field.
Phillip Goodman has been named vice president of the firm. He has over 14 years of experience on large commercial projects. He is leading the tenant improvement team for Mulvanny's new office at Hines' 112th <@> 12th complex in Bellevue.
Celeste Lenon has been promoted to vice president. She will continue to manage the integration of technology with the business of architecture. She has designed and implemented a database application that integrates architectural processes and business practices into a centralized project management tool for the firm's offices nationwide.
Nakano Associates has recently hired Ed Mah as a senior associate and Nhon Truoug as an associate landscape designer.
Mah has more than 24 years of professional experience encompassing project experience in street improvements, urban design, institutional, public parks, transit and office parks. He is working on several projects, including the West Seattle High School renovation and the Technology Resource Center at Renton Technical College.
Truong, a recently graduate from the University of Washington, is currently working on several projects, including the Burien Community Center Park and Skateboard Park, the Sunnyside Beach Railroad Crossing and the Seattle Center Children's Garden.
NBBJ has named Richard Dallam and Rysia Suchecka of the Seattle office and Dan Meis of the Los Angeles office as partners.
Dallam, who has academic degrees in both philosophy and architecture, is involved with projects such as the Hall of Still Thought, which serves as a center at the Tzu Chi Taichung Medical Campus in Taichung, Taiwan. He was chairman of the Seattle Arts Commission's public art committee.
Suchecka's projects in Seattle include the Gene Juarez Spa and Salon, Edmond Meany Hotel, Market Place Tower, Security Pacific Art Gallery and ZymoGenetics. She moved to the United States from Poland in 1971 and joined the firm in 1981.
Meis has worked for Chicago architectural firms. He recently won a competition to design the $750 million Saitama Arena in Saitama, Japan. He is also working on the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals stadiums.
The firm has also named several West Coast principals.
Brent Rogers has worked on the corporate headquarters for Teledesic and Adobe, and the Quadrant Lake Union Center.
Lori Walker, an interior designer, has worked on Optiva's World Headquarters.
Alan Young is leading interior architecture for the new Immunex corporate headquarters in Seattle.
Jin Ah Park is working on design of Telenor's corporate headquarters in Oslo, Norway.
Jonathan Ward is working to develop the use of new computer technology as a prime design tool.
Tom Morton is project manager for Telenor's corporate headquarters in Oslo.
Teri Oelrich, a former clinical nurse, earned an MBA and then joined NBBJ in 1989 as a health care planner.
William Ness, senior engineer, and Joseph Mathieu, design engineer, have joined the civil projects group of Reid Middleton.
Ness will work as project manager and quality control specialist, and will develop the firm's sewer and water system practice. Previously, he worked for EarthTech in Bellevue.
Mathieu will design site development, stormwater management and utility systems. Prior to joining the firm, he was a project engineer at RoseWater Engineering in Seattle.
Reid Middleton is a structural, civil engineering, planning and surveying firm based in Everett.
Gary Richardson has joined Skillings-Connolly as a project manager. A retiree from the Washington State Department of Transportation, Richardson worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff before joining the firm.
His expertise includes design, contract administration and maintenance operations for roadways, bridges and structures.
Skillings-Connolly is a civil, transportation and environmental engineering firm based in Lacey.
Sparling, an electrical engineering and technology-consulting firm based in Seattle, recently promoted two of its employees in the marketing department.
Kathleen O'Malley was promoted to marketing communications manager, and Kristy Rosenberg was promoted to marketing manager.

Jerry Lloyd, has been promoted to the new position of director of new business development for Cascade Designs, a Seattle-based manufacturer and marketer of outdoor recreational gear. Lloyd has been with the company since 1981 and will be responsible for evaluating and developing new business opportunities beyond Cascade's current base of products and market groups. Kelly Stone has been promoted to director of sales for the outdoor and bicycle markets. Stone is responsible for managing the sales team, dealer services, consumer services and distribution groups.

Candela, a lighting architectural consulting firm in Seattle, has promoted Mary Claire Frazier to associate. She has worked for four years as senior lighting designer for the firm. Frazier has more than 15 years of lighting design experience, including projects for Microsoft, the Westin Hotel Ballroom renovation, the new Seattle University Law School and the Experience Music Project.

Daniel Vu has joined CDi Mechanical Engineers in Lynnwood.
Vu, a recent college graduate, is assisting the firm with the University of Washington Medical Center Ambulatory Surgery and Treatment Pavilion project. His responsibilities as mechanical designer on the project include ductwork design and equipment selection.
Prior to earning his degree, Vu spent four years with the U.S. Navy as a gas turbine system mechanical technical and three years in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a production planner.
The Harris Group has promoted Bob Miller to engineering manager of the Portland office. He has nearly 30 years experience in the engineering industry.
Headquartered in Seattle, the Harris Group specializes in consulting engineering, design and construction management for companies in the pulp and paper, energy, electronics, oil and gas, chemical, and manufacturing industries.
Barry Chen has joined the Seattle office of Hart Crowser as senior associate in the geotechnical engineering group.
Chen has more than 15 years experience in geotechnical engineering, consulting and research. Prior to joining the firm, he was a project manager for Agra Earth & Environmental in Kirkland and for Dames & Moore in Florida.
He is working on the embankment design for the third runway project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and for Microsoft Building 50 in Redmond.

Ed O’Brien has joined the municipal group of Penhallegon Associates Consulting Engineers as a senior engineer. He is working on the Issaquah Highlands water facility extension and a water main replacement for the Coal Creek Utility District.
Amie Gladfelter has joined the firm as an entry-level engineer in the site development group. She has been working on designs for Lacy Town Center South, Sorenson Early Childhood Center and Bothell First Baptist Heritage Christian School.

David Kutsunai has been promoted to principal of Space, an international architectural interior design firm with a local office in Seattle.

David Reeves was promoted to principal of the firm. An employee of Space since 1995, Reeves has managed complex corporate projects for Aetna, Prudential, Amazon.com and Microsoft. He will continue as an account manager for domestic and global clients.
