BOORA

BOORA Architects in Portland has promoted Christopher Purdy and Thomas Robbins to associates in the firm.

Purdy is the project manager for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the Sacramento Kings Practice Facility and tenant improvements to NikeTowns throughout the West Coast. His work also includes renovation and restoration of Seattle's Cinerama Theatre.

Robbins has played a variety of roles on projects, ranging from designer to construction administrator. His work in Seattle includes several projects for Vulcan Northwest, a company owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. These projects include the renovation and restoration of Cinerama Theatre and the founders' room for the Experience Museum Project.

Boxwood

Kathleen Petrie has joined Boxwood, an architectural firm in Seattle, as an intern architect. She has experience in construction documentation and administration. She will be working on the Animal Health Care Facility for Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and a private residence on Camano Island.

Boxwood specializes in community centers, medical facilities, transit and industrial projects.

Freiheit & Ho

Richard Gardner has been promoted to associate of Freheit & Ho Architects in Bellevue. He joined the firm in 1997 as an architectural draftsman. He is working on the Sycuan Tribal Administration building, the Coeur D'Alene Hotel and various projects for Albertson's.

The firm has hired several new employees as architectural draftsmen: Thom Keys, Aimee Rush, Marcus Thomas, David Finger, Rami Ghaled, Sandra Gomes, Grace Quiroga and Jenny Li.

Sarah Ruether has been hired as an administrative and marketing assistant.

Harding Lawson Associates

Jack Pittis has joined Harding Lawson Associates in Bellevue as principal engineer of the transportation staff. He joins HLA after working 19 years for the city of Port Angeles as the director of public works.

KPFF

Jaime Sáez has been promoted to an associate of KPFF Consulting Engineers, a civil and structural engineering firm in Seattle. He is a civil engineer with experience in design and management for transportation, infrastructure and site development projects. His projects include Redmond Ridge, a 1,000-acre urban-planned development, and Fremont Block 40, a retail and residential complex. Saez began his career with the Washington State Department of Transportation before he became a consulting engineer.

SRG Partnership

SRG Partnership, an architecture, planning and interior design in Portland, has promoted and hired several employees.

A new principal, Kenneth Mouchka is lead project manager for a new $92 million research and development facility in San Francisco.

David Morey, a senior associate, will be working on the Sony Corp.'s Springfield campus and will act as project architect on the company's new research and development facility in San Francisco.

Gregory Williams joins SRG as a senior associate and project architect. He will be working on the Lillis Business Complex at the University of Oregon, a $37.5 million renovation and expansion program for the College of Business.

Brad Rice, senior associate, has been hired as the firm's business manager. Jori Bourret, interior designer, has been promoted to senior associate. She has worked on buildings at the Oregon Health Sciences University, Mercy Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente and Wells Fargo.

inFOREtech Wireless Technology, the Seattle-based developer of a GPS-based golf device, announced the expansion of its engineering team by adding Julius Farkas, Duncan Smith, Leona Neufeld and Don Boyd to its staff. Farkas will oversee quality assurance, strategic alliances and purchasing. Smith joins inFOREtech as a senior engineer with more than 20 years of system definition and development experience. Neufeld brings more than 17 years of experience in software development to her new role with the company. Boyd brings more than 12 years of experience in the development and deployment of real-time communications systems.

BOORA Architects

BOORA Architects of Portland has promoted several employees to associates in the firm.

Ric Battaglia is a California-registered architect with 11 years of experience in a broad range of project types. His portfolio includes NikeTown stores in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami and a performance hall at the University of California. He is working on a $9.2 million music building at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

Janet Bebb joined the firm last summer and is a project manager for Adidas Village in Portland and a new $65 million arts and entertainment center in Mesa, Ariz. Katy de Ville is the interior designer for the $50 million National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati; a library, theatre and communication arts building at Linfield College; and an education building for the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Michael Gregg creates multimedia presentations, project Web sites and architectural computer models and renderings.

GA Design

GA Design, a Bellevue-based graphic design firm, has added two new employees.

Ann Hurley specializes in packaging, brand identity, advertising, point-of-purchase displays and Web site design.

David Bezoenik joins the firm as a Web developer.

Parametrix

Parametrix recently hired David Mills as survey division manager. He will be responsible for both project execution and business development in the Portland area. Mills spent the past 16 years with W.B. Wells & Associates where he held the position of director of surveying services and vice president.

Based in Sumner, Parametrix offers services in environmental sciences, water and wastewater engineering, waste management and architecture.

Peratrovich, Nottingham & Drage

Ogetsu Terao has joined the Seattle office of Peratrovich, Nottingham & Drage as a staff engineer. He is working on structural load rating of a U.S. Navy pier in Bremerton and on inspection of a bridge in Warrenton, Ore.

PN&D specializes in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering for waterfront and transportation projects.

Reid Middleton

Barry Constant, a yacht captain, has joined Reid Middleton where he will be responsible for designing docks, floats, piers and other waterfront facilities. He comes to the firm from Kirkland-based Associated Earth Sciences Inc.

Headquartered in Everett, Reid Middleton provides civil and structural engineering, planning and surveying services.

City of Seattle

Emily Burns has been promoted to assistant management systems analyst in the city of Seattle's Facility Services Division, architecture and engineering section.

Stormwater Management

Lew Scholl has joined Stormwater Management of Portland as a project engineer. Prior to joining the firm, he was a floodplain manager for the Clark County Department of Community Development.

Hewitt Architects

Hewitt Architects, a Seattle firm, has hired two new designers.

Suzanne Duley is experienced in transportation, civic, retail, mixed-use and commercial office projects. She also has an interest in furniture design. Duley is currently working on Sound Transit stations in the city of SeaTac and the NEAT station at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Tracey Margel is experienced in educational and health care facilities. She is currently working on several mixed-use residential projects.

KJM

KJM & Associates, a project and construction management firm based in Bellevue, has added several new employees.

Harvey Teitzel joins the firm as assistant resident engineer for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport capital improvement program.

Karleen Brown joins the firm as a document control specialist on Sound Transit projects.

Karyn Waterman will provide administrative support for the Renton Eastside Reclamation Plant project.

Kimberly Johnson is a cost accountant for the capital improvement program at Sea-Tac.

Geographics

Blaine-based Geographics will acquire most of the assets of the consumer products business of the communications papers division of Domtar. The deal largely consists of inventory, customer files and designs. The two companies have also agreed that Geographics will convert, distribute and sell products under the Domtar label to the retail market
