Eldorado Stone

Eldorado Stone Corp., a major manufacturer of architectural stone veneer, has formed a new company called Eldorado Stone LLC. The new company combines the parent Eldorado Stone Corp. and two of its major licensees -- StoneCraft Industries Inc. of San Marcos, Calif., and Northwest Stone & Brick of Seattle -- into one larger operating unit. The consolidation was made in order to capitalize on the synergies that exist among the different organizations and to fully utilize the employees.

Foushee & Associates

Bellevue-based general contractor Foushee & Associates has promoted three of its employees. Teddy Shiferaw and John Dolence have been promoted to project engineers and Rich Angehrn has been promoted to project manager of the Tenant Improvement department. Shiferaw graduated from the Building Engineering college of Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Dolence graduated from the University of Washington and holds a certificate from the Construction Management program. Angehrn graduated from Central Washington University's Construction Management program.

MCA

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington has awarded $1,000 scholarships to two students -- senior James Slater and junior Rick Wiseman -- in the University of Washington's Construction Management program. Slater is currently serving an internship with MCA member McKinstry Co. Wiseman was an apprentice in the mechanical industry, and has worked as a pipefitter for MCA member companies J.H. Kelly and McKinstry Co. He is a summer intern with MCA member W.A. Botting Co. Criteria for the scholarships includes exposure to the mechanical contracting industry through internships or employment, maintaining high academic standards, and being an active member in the UW MCA Student Chapter.

Cedar Shake Bureau

The Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau has announced Darlene Jacuk has left the organization as its manager. John Dziedzic, of Teal Cedar Products and former chairman of the Cedar Bureau, will serve as interim manager while the search for a replacement is conducted. The bureau is based in Mission, British Columbia.

Mulvanny G2 Architects

Greg Krape has been promoted to vice president and partner of Mulvanny G2 Architects, a Bellevue-based design firm.

He has been with the firm for one year. Prior to joining Mulvanny G2, Krape was a sole practitioner. During his 23-year career, he has designed more than one million square feet of commercial office buildings, including the Willows Creek Corporate Center in Redmond and Cedar Court in Bellevue.

His current projects include the Lakeridge Square office complex and the Daytona Building, both of which are in Redmond.

Northwest Architectural Company

Jeani Natwick has been named an associate of the Northwest Architectural Company. She is director of interior design for the firm's Spokane office. Her recently completed projects include Liberty Lake Elementary School and Mount Spokane High School. Her current projects include the Mead High School modernization and the Clark High School renovation and addition.

Keith Comes has been named a principal architect of the firm. He joined in 1992 and was employed in California prior to coming to Spokane. His current work includes Saint George's Upper School in Spokane, Washington State University's Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility and the Hamilton-Lowe Aquatics Center in Moscow, Idaho.

Northwest Architectural Company has offices in Seattle, Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.

URS Corp.

Karen Zollman has joined the north office of URS Corp. in Seattle as the manager of Geographic Information Systems. She is managing the GIS staff who work on environmental and engineering projects for municipal, county and federal clients. Currently, she is providing GIS services to Mason and Stevens counties and the U.S. Navy.

Headquartered in San Francisco, URS Corp. is a publicly owned company offering a broad range of planning, engineering and architectural design, applied and environmental science, and program and construction management services through its two operating divisions, URS Greiner Woodward Clyde and the Dames & Moore Group.

FastFocus Systems

FastFocus Systems, headquartered in Bellevue, announced the sale of its Buying Decision System to Sharp Corp. in Osaka, Japan. Sharp will use the system to upgrade its business-to-business Web site, improving the ease of navigating the site for Sharp customers and sales staff. FastFocus, founded in 1997, develops software designed to ease purchasing decisions and allow a company to have sales and/or product managers update their online database in real time without any knowledge of programming or Web site design.
