Primus International, a Bellevue-based producer of aerospace structural components, announced that Jerry Howell has joined the company and will become president of its Bumstead Manufacturing division. Howell has 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Bumstead Manufacturing is a provider of close-tolerance machining for the aerospace industry and was named Boeing supplier of the year in 1999.

Christina Haring and Gary Luke have joined the Seattle office of the law firm Stoel Rives. Haring and Luke both practice in the firm's construction and design group. Haring's practice emphasizes construction and design litigation. Luke assists both public and private clients in a variety of construction matters.
Art Anderson Associates has hired two new architects in its facilities division.
Charles Dodgen brings 25 years of professional architectural experience in the design and construction of commercial, industrial, educational and medical projects. His prior job experience includes work for the U.S. Department of Energy and Scandia National Laboratories. He is also a licensed general contractor.
Kenneth Bowman brings 33 years of professional architectural and engineering experience as the principal-in-charge of architectural and structural design for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, medical and waterfront projects. His diverse project experience includes a 60,000-square-foot cancer research and outpatient clinic building for the University of California at San Diego Medical Center.
Based in Bremerton, Art Anderson Associates provides services in architecture, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering and naval architecture.
Beverley Shimmin, named senior lighting designer, is rejoining Candela after living and working for a lighting design firm in Atlanta for the past three years.
Shannon Kowski, named lighting designer, is from New York where she worked for the firm of Jaros Baum & Bolles, specializing in lighting design for commercial buildings.
Candela is the architectural lighting division of Sparling, an electrical engineering and technology consulting firm in Seattle.
Entranco has hired Molly Cook as organizational communication consultant for the firm. She has more than 20 years of experience in this field. She also worked on staff with Duke Engineering & Services and with CH2M Hill.
Entranco has also added three employees to its Olympia office. Erik Finley joins the firm as a civil engineer, specializing in hydrologic modeling, stormwater treatment and flood control design. He is working on the Meridian campus master stormwater plan for the Vicwood/Meridian Partnership in Lacey.
Kevin House joins the firm as a design engineer. He is providing engineering services on the Sunnyside Boulevard feasibility study for the city of Marysville and is performing the site civil design for Market Center, a new retail and office complex in Olympia.
David Newkirk is the office coordinator for Olympia operations. His background includes six years with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked in the administrative field.
Shannon McNutt and Barbara Wickens have joined Group West Associates as project managers for interior design.
Located in Lynnwood, Group West provides architectural, interior design and development strategies for businesses.
Thomas Nichols has been hired as the firm's corporate quality manager. His 26 years of engineering and project management experience include work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Defense.
John Herzog, who has been with the firm for four and half years, has been promoted to associate. He specializes in Puget Sound estuarine processes, with an emphasis on sediment quality and waterfront issues. Herzog is managing both the Lockheed Shipyard remedial designs near Harbor Island and the Sitcum Waterway navigational dredging project for the Port of Tacoma.
Mulvanny Architects has added Gail Staeger as senior landscape architect to its Seattle office. She previously ran her own full-service landscape architecture firm and has 20 years of experience in the architecture industry.
Staeger's first projects in the Puget Sound area with Mulvanny include providing site design for the Tulalip Health Clinic near Marysville and the Early Learning Family and Child Care Center at Bellevue Community College.
Nick Bossoff has joined Peterson Consulting Engineers as a senior civil engineer. He has 15 years of professional experience in a diverse range of projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, municipal, transportation and high-rise developments. The Willina Ranch apartments in north King County and the Fifth Avenue/Yesler Way office tower are some of his recent projects.
Robert Ludwig joins the firm as a design engineer for residential and commercial projects. His recent projects include the Falls Crossing mixed-use plan, Heritage at Newcastle and the Island Lumber and Boundary Dam.
Based in Kirkland, Peterson Consulting Engineers specializes in civil and water resources engineering.
Stephen Starling has been named a principal with Schreiber & Lane Architects. In his nine years with the Seattle-based firm, Starling has been the design and project lead for a number of projects, including the Range at the State Training Center in Burien and the Haselwood Library at Olympic College in Bremerton.
CivilTech Corp., a Bellevue structural, geotechnical and software engineering firm, has hired two new staff members.
Joining the structural group is Yan Liu. With more than five years of structural design experience, Liu previously worked for SSOE in Bellevue and ABKJ in Seattle. At CivilTech, she is working on structural projects at John Day Dam and Bonneville Dam, and will be working on the Sound Transit Light Rail 730 and 740 segment designs later this year.
Joining the geotechnical group is Kevin Ho, a recent graduate in geologic engineering from the University of British Columbia. Ho has geotechnical and geo-environmental field experience in Canada and Hong Kong. He will be supporting the firm's geotechnical investigations and design work.
Robert Josephson has joined HNTB's office in Bellevue. He joins the firm as director of transportation with 32 years of experience in a wide range of transportation and engineering duties, from management and planning to design and construction. Prior to joining the firm, Josephson worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation. He served as project engineer for the Interstate 90 and Seattle/Mercer Island major tunnel projects.

Larry Bringhurst has joined Reid Middleton's Oregon office as a project engineer. He will perform structural design of commercial, industrial and military buildings, and seismic evaluation and rehabilitation and design of buildings and bridges. His last employer was Branford Conrad Crow Engineering Co. in Tigard, Ore., where he was a project engineer and program manager.
Richard Spry has been named senior designer at Ross De Alessi Lighting Design. Spry joins the Seattle-based firm following an extensive career in the United Kingdom, which included designing lighting for Andrew Lloyd Webber's London townhouse.
Ross De Alessi specializes in exterior, interior and landscape commercial and residential lighting design.
Barry Buchanan has joined R.W. Beck as a project manager. He will lead one of the firm's projects for the Clackamas River Water District in Oregon.
