Otak

Otak announces the addition of Jim Waymire as Seattle office manager; promotion of Mandi Roberts to principal; the promotion of Russ Gaston to director of water resources; and the promotion of Vanaja Rajah to certified engineer.

As office manager for Otak’s Seattle office, Waymire will support project managers and technical staff with client relations, business development, project management and quality assurance. Waymire was most recently a principal at NBBJ in Seattle. Roberts is a registered landscape architect and certified planner in Otak’s Seattle office, with over 16 years of experience in management, coordination and design on public and private projects. Gaston is a civil engineer in the Kirkland office with nearly 15 years of experience specializing in water resources. Gaston is currently leading several projects for the city of Shoreline. Rajah's focus has been in drainage analysis, public roadway design and private site development.

Parametrix

Parametrix recently hired Neil Bass as the water/wastewater division manager and Tina Nelson as transportation division manager in the Bremerton office. Bass and Nelson will be responsible for both project execution and business development on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas.

Within the past eight years, Bass held three critical positions at the Navy’s Engineering Field Activity Northwest design and construction office. He was the director for environmental planning and natural resources, the director for planning and construction support, and the project manager for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard sediment cleanup, navigational dredging and aircraft carrier pier design development and environmental permitting. Nelson has more than 10 years experience as design engineer, and projects/construction manager. Nelson comes to Parametrix from the city of Tacoma’s Public Works Department where she was the contract administrator, responsible for managing contracts for construction of municipal facilities.

Earth Tech

Earth Tech has added several staff members to its Northwest offices. Harold Brende, senior project manager with Earth Tech’s Global Water Division, joined the Bellevue office. Brende is currently preparing a stormwater management plan for the city of Maple Valley that addresses regulatory requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the NPDES Stormwater Phase II rule, and is completing a comprehensive flood hazard management plan for the city of Sultan.

In the Earth Tech Seattle office, Marcos Lopez, became senior director and Edwin C. Pier, joined as senior consultant for King County’s Regional Inflow/Infiltration Program. The I/I program is the nation’s largest flow monitoring and analysis effort (807 flow meters) and includes building consensus among 34 individual sewer agencies on a regional program to reduce I/I flows to the King County conveyance and treatment system.

Brian Martin joined Bellevue’s Transportation Group as drafter/illustrator. He recently completed the design efforts for six miles of US Highway 151 in Wisconsin and is currently working on the Wacker Drive viaduct/US Highway 23 in Chicago. Bonnie Lyon assumed marketing responsibilities for Bellevue, Federal Way, Seattle and Boise offices upon the promotion of Charles McIntyre to manager, business development.

The Transpo Group recently hired three people.

Jill Larson is the firm’s new marketing manager. Larson most recently comes from the 3D computer visualization industry.

Paul Takamine is a senior transportation planner with 17 years of experience. His areas of experience include travel demand forecasting and modeling, traffic impact analyses, transit planning, comprehensive planning, multi-agency coordination and public involvement.

Kerensa Swanson was been recently hired as a transportation engineer. She has experience in impact analysis, traffic operations and signal design. Kerensa is president of the Puget Sound chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar.

Entranco

Entranco announced several promotions. Ed Berschinski, vice president, construction program manager. Berschinski has experience in project management and contract administration for public works and private development projects. Ginny Hoglund-Gray, vice president, development program manager. Hoglund-Gray's expertise includes site layout and design, alignment alternatives, arterial design, drainage/utilities design and hydraulic analysis. Ken Forssen,vice president, ports/airports program manager. Forssen is a registered civil and structural engineer and a licensed general contractor with over 30 years of experience.

Additional promotions include Tim Brockway, director of development for the Bellevue office and Mike Roberts, director of construction services for the Bellevue office.

INCA Engineers

Ken Wiley has joined the Transportation Department at INCA Engineers in Bellevue as a senior design engineer. Wiley recently retired from the King County Department of Transportation with 30 years of experience in urban and rural roadway improvements, bicycle facilities and pedestrian improvements.

Mulvanny Architects

Mulvanny Architects has promoted Justin Hill to vice president/officer. In his new position, Hill will be more involved with overall management and leadership of the Costco account.

For the last two years, Hill has served as a principal at Mulvanny Architects. He joined Mulvanny in January of 1991 as an architectural technician. In 1997 he was promoted to associate and became a principal in 1999. He is a licensed architect in the state of Washington and graduated from the University of Washington in 1990.

Bouillon

Bouillon, Inc. announced the promotion of Jim Sokol to vice president. Sokol is a project manager/mechanical engineer with 20 years of experience. He joined Bouillon three years ago and has led mechanical systems design on projects for Swedish Medical Center, Winstar and Hedreen LLC. He is currently working on the Tacoma General Hospital expansion and remodel.

Berger Partnership

The Berger Partnership recently promoted Meredith English from administrative staff member to associate. English has been with the firm for three years and is responsible for office policies, administrative management and day-to-day office management.

MCA Architects

Jeff Wright has joined MCA Architects of Portland as an intern architect. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho. He is currently working on communications facilities throughout Oregon and southwest Washington for Qwest and other commercial projects.

Lynda Leask Lauterbach has joined MCA Architects as a project architect. She maintains an expertise in governmental, educational and medical projects. Currently, she is the project architect for construction administration on United Airlines' 189,656-square-foot air cargo facility at Los Angeles International Airport.

Dustin Posner has joined MCA Architects as a project architect. He is licensed in Oregon and a maintains an expertise in historic restoration, housing and civic/cultural facilities. His past projects include the restoration of the Governor Hotel located in downtown Portland. Currently, Posner is a project architect for LSG/Sky Chefs projects throughout the United States.

LMN Architects

LMN Architects recently promoted Jennifer Hing to associate. Hing's involvement in the Seattle Children's Theatre Technical Pavilion included leadership positions as the project architect and working on construction administration. She is project architect on the renovation and expansion of Lakeside School's Ackerley Athletic Center. Kirk Hostetter was promoted to associate. His expertise is in convention centers, cultural facilities and educational buildings. His latest responsibility is project architect for the Wildwood Convention Center, under construction in Wildwood, N.J.

Jones & Jones

Jones & Jones announced the following three promotions: Maren Coleman, senior associate; Nancy Rottle, senior associate; and Jieuny Reinertson, comptroller.

Coleman has experience in coordination and management of a range of projects and has received acclaim for graphic and verbal presentations.

A landscape architect, Rottle has managed nature and culture-based projects at Jones & Jones for the last 10 years. She has specialized in the design of educational and park facilities, interpretation planning and design, cultural landscape preservation and ecological restoration.

Reinertson has been with the company for the past five years as an accounting manager. She received a BA degree in accounting with honor from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif.

C3 Management

C3 Management Group (C3MG) announced Steve Ahrens Jr. has been selected to join the cost estimating team and help expand the firm's capacity and capabilities. Ahrens' credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Washington. He joins the cost engineers at the main office located in Kirkland.

Freiheit & Ho

Freiheit & Ho Architects, P.S., recently promoted Jamie Ho to a position as an associate. Ho is currently the project manager for the Kirkland Office Building and the 24 Hour Fitness Health Club account, which has her working on projects in Seattle, Lynnwood and Bellevue. Her photo was misidentified in last week's edition of the DJC.
