ASC

Rodel Del Mundo has joined Advanced Structural Concepts as a CAD draftsman. Mundo has 10 years of experience in structural drafting. He has been involved with larger commercial projects such as hotels, retail buildings, office buildings and multi-family. He is currently working on the Ranniger mixed-use project, 17th and Spring residential project, Applebee’s restaurants and a co-brand development building.

ASC provides structural engineering design, investigation and construction phase services.

Dykeman

Kierstin Moffat Misterek joined Dykeman as an interior design director. She will be leading Dykeman's expansion of both interior design services and workplace consulting services. She serves on the public relations committee of the International Interior Design Association and is a new member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. Dykeman has been in business for 35 years and has a staff of more than 30 interior designers, planners, architects and support staff.

Peterson

Peterson Consulting Engineers announced the addition of Michael Mickiewicz as survey manager. Mickiewicz has 29 years of professional experience, including work for both private and public sector clients involving project management, boundary and topographic surveys, easement location and creation, telecommunication and retail development, among others. His responsibilities will include all survey related tasks and coordination at PCE.

Peterson Consulting Engineers is a civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Kirkland.

Berger/ABAM

Jerrod McCann recently joined Berger/ABAM Engineers in Federal Way. McCann has eight years experience in inspection, construction and field engineering for waterfront and marine projects. His background includes diving experience performing condition surveys and inspections for piers, dolphins, terminals, bridges, seawalls, traveling water screens, intake bays and water gates. Prior to joining Berger/ABAM, McCann served as field services and engineering technician for a consulting engineering firm.

Julia Walton joined the Federal Way headquarters as planning and environmental manager. Walton has 20 years experience with urban planning and design experience leading large-scale, multidisciplinary projects. Her background in both planning and architecture enables her to understand and communicate how plans and options translate into the built environment and how to use successful physical designs as a template for public policy.

Carlos Ospina is also new in the Federal Way headquarters. Ospina has 10 years of experience in structural engineering for residential and industrial buildings, and transportation facilities. He has experience in analysis, design and destructive testing of full-scale structural concrete members; structural concrete design theory; and the use of advanced composite materials to repair or rehabilitate concrete structures. Ospina was a bridge engineer for Canadian National Railways.

Berger/ABAM offers services in project management, civil and structural engineering, environmental planning and documentation, and construction management and support.

Wiss, Janney, Elstner

Eric Anderson recently joined Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates as a senior engineer. Anderson is completing his Ph.D. in civil engineering at Berkeley, where he received his master's in 1996.

At Berkeley, Anderson developed earthquake simulation tests of seismically isolated highway bridges for the California Department of Transportation. Prior to this, he worked for 10 years as a project engineer on a wide range of structural investigations and new design projects including bridges, buildings, and coastal and marine facilities. Anderson has managed numerous post-earthquake damage evaluations of highway and building structures; strength evaluation of an existing waffle-slab floor system; replacement of prestressed concrete highway bridge girders; and structural design for both an elementary and a junior college campus.

WJE specializes in the investigation, analysis and design of repairs for contemporary and historic buildings, bridges and other structures.

Shannon & Wilson

Lloyd Reitz recently joined Shannon & Wilson as a principal engineer. Reitz has specialized in geotechnical engineering for 12 years, managing and directing geotechnical and seismic hazard investigations. He will support transportation, infrastructure and development projects from Shannon & Wilson’s Richland office.

Mirai

Mirai Associates recently announced the addition of three staff. Donald Hoffman joins Mirai as traffic engineer. Prior to joining the consulting world a few years ago, Hoffman was Northwest Region Traffic Engineer for the Washington State Department of Transportation. He has 40 years of transportation engineering experience, including having managed the initial design, construction, and operation of the ramp metering and closed-circuit TV system for all freeways in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Brian Dearing, engineer-in-training, joins Mirai from Missouri. He currently studying for his master's in civil engineering/transportation planning at the U.W. Yukari Bettencourt joins as administrative coordinator/graphics specialist. She brings extensive from the publishing world, where has been an associate on-line editor for REI and editor of Soy Source, a Japanese community newsletter

Brown and Caldwell

Brown and Caldwell announced the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accreditation of Dawn Lesley, environmental engineer. Lesley uses her training in The Natural Step, LEED and other sustainability frameworks to assess project approaches for their long-term economic, environmental and social sustainability. Lesley is the LEED and environmental sustainability services manager for Brown and Caldwell's Northwest region.

Brown and Caldwell provides environmental planning, design and construction management for wastewater and water treatment, conveyance, surface water, water resources planning, air, solid waste, site investigations and remediation.

GGLO added two professionals to the firm: marketing managers, Michelle Rosenberger and Mark Wainwright. With more than 10 years experience in the A/E/C industry, Rosenberger works on business development strategies for the firm's Housing Studio. Wainwright, who manages the commercial and interior design studio, comes to GGLO with seven years of marketing and public relations experience.

Joan Rumsey has joined McGranahan Architects as a project designer. Rumsey is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a master's of architecture. She is currently working on the Clover Park Technical College master plan update and Building 18 modernization.

Kris Stamon is new to McGranahan Architects as a project designer, A graduate of the University of Oregon, Stamon holds a bachelor's of architecture degree and has five years design experience. He is currently working on the University of Washington Tacoma Phase 2B project.
