Northwest Architectural Co.

Northwest Architectural Co. of Seattle recently promoted Natalie Dohrn and Boris Srdar to senior associates and Philip Riedel to associate.

Dohrn has worked on many of NAC’s educational projects, and her health care portfolio includes the Highline Community Hospital Cedar Wing addition and the Regional Geropsych Hospital expansion. Dohrn’s current projects include design for Lake Hills Elementary School in the Bellevue School District and multiple architectural assignments in Durango, Colo.

Srdar has played key roles in the Emerald Ridge High School, the theater addition at Stanwood High School and a new middle school for Tacoma School District. He is currently working on the design for Mount View Elementary School in Highline School District, the master plan for Wilson High School in Tacoma School District and Renton’s new Henry Moses Aquatic Center.

Riedel’s project portfolio includes the new Camas High School and renovation of historic Renton High School and new Ikea Performing Arts Center. His previous experience was in college and university projects, with a focus on student recreation centers.

Established in 1960, Northwest Architectural Co. provides architectural, engineering and interior design services.

C. Felice & Co.

Grace A. Weaver has joined C. Felice & Co. as marketing coordinator. Weaver brings 10 years of A/E marketing experience to the firm and will assist in developing business leads for Cross-Hole Sonic Logging services for drilled shafts.

C. Felice & Co. is a Kirkland-based geotechnical and geoenvironmental management consulting firm.

Flack+Kurtz

Flack+Kurtz announced Henry DiGregorio, senior vice president, has joined the Seattle office as principal in charge. Most recently, DiGregorio served as principal in charge of Flack+Kurtz’s Hong Kong office.

DiGregorio’s mechanical engineering experience includes the design of various HVAC systems and project management of complex projects nationally and internationally. He has projects in Hong Kong, Argentina, Chili, Mexico, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and Great Britain. Major U.S. projects include the Metropolitan Financial Center, Spokane; IDX Building, Seattle; King County Courthouse seismic retrofit; and NASA headquarters, Washington, D.C.

Allan Montpellier, senior associate, has transferred to Seattle from the London office. Montpellier, a LEED certified mechanical engineer, has nine years experience in the design, specification and analysis of mechanical systems in various building types. His design and project management experience includes the 112th @ 12th complex; Pier 1 Embarcadero redevelopment, San Francisco; and the Washington Mutual/Seattle Art Museum complex.

Michael Phillips has been promoted to associate with Flack + Kurtz. Phillips has experience in the Seattle area, including such projects as 112th @ 12th in Bellevue, Cedar Court and Roosevelt Commons.

Freiheit & Ho Architects

Freiheit & Ho Architects announced the promotion of Thomas L. Spader and Kevin K. Chow to senior associates. Spader has been managing Jack in the Box restaurants and Payless ShoeSource accounts as well as assisting with other projects.

Chow currently manages and has completed many Extended Stay America Hotel projects throughout the West Coast and is assisting with other projects. The firm also announced the addition of Nora Ng as an architectural designer. Ng will be involved with retail and hospitality projects.

SME

Steve Blair has rejoined SME as service manager. Blair comes to SME to expand the service division to include multi-family residential clients and residential services, as well as support current commercial and industrial clients.

SME of Seattle was founded in 1972 and has grown from a one-person shop into a fully integrated electrical design and construction company that employs more than 90 licensed electricians and licensed administrators.

Shannon & Wilson

Shannon & Wilson announced the recent addition of Travis Deane, Scott Pawling and Carol Wang to its Seattle staff. Wang has joined the accounting group as a billing specialist.

Pawling is working with the firm’s underground services section as a senior geologist. Pawling will be supporting geotechnical and railroad projects for clients including Seattle Monorail Project, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and Bonneville Power Administration.

As a principal engineer, Deane will support transportation, infrastructure and development projects including the proposed Howard Hanson Dam fish passage. Deane has 10 years of experience with projects in Washington and northern California.

Architectural Werks of Kirkland announced that Janet Monda has become a principal with the firm. She joined Architectural Werks in 1996 and is involved in the firm's ongoing work in the medical and veterinary fields. Also joining the firm as project managers are Naomi Sutton and Adela Santisteban.

HDR has hired Ron Kinoshita as a senior project manager in its Bellevue office. Kinoshita is a manager with experience in highway design and construction administration.

Prior to joining HDR, Kinoshita held positions with the Washington State Department of Transportation, the U.S. Corps of Engineers, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, the state Department of Revenue, and private consulting firms.

HDR also recently hired Paul Bott as a regional bridge manager and senior project manager in its Bellevue office. Bott has more than 24 years of experience in a variety of structure types including: long-span bridges, superstructure for concrete segmental, cable-stayed, prestressed and post-tensioned concrete, reinforced concrete, steel and timber bridges. He is currently the lead structural engineer for the Alaska Department of Transportation on the Gravina Access Project in Ketchikan.

Mary Ann Carlson joins HDR as a senior marketing coordinator. She will be responsible for marketing services in the environmental and resource management group.

Living Shelter Design of Issaquah recently hired Sage K. Saskill as a project manager. Saskill is experienced in preparing designs, documents and cost estimates for schools, hospitals and multi-family projects. He has been working in Portland and Coos Bay, Ore., for many years. Saskill is also vice president of the regional board of directors for the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild.

T.E., Inc.

T.E., Inc., a Seattle mechanical and electrical consulting firm, announced the promotion of Hardy Widjaja to assistant electrical department head. Widjaja has been employed with T.E., Inc. for four years.
