Parametrix

Daryl Wendle was appointed employee representative on the board of directors of Parametrix.

Wendle is a senior planner, managing environmental studies for projects including the North Link light rail project and the Seattle monorail project. He has been in the engineering and environmental consulting field since 1988.

David Peebler recently joined Parametrix as a senior land surveyor. Peebler has 16 years of experience supporting and managing multi-disciplined survey projects throughout the state. He assumes the role of survey supervisor in the firm's Sumner office. His responsibilities include oversight of daily survey operations, client liaison, project management and budgeting.

Peebler's experience includes construction management, contract proposals and budgeting, client management, billing and crew scheduling.

ABKJ

Andersen Bjornstad Kane Jacobs, a Seattle-based civil and structural engineering firm, added a new engineer to its building department.

Greg Lee has rejoined ABKJ as a structural project engineer and has been assigned to the Lincoln Square development in Bellevue. His previous ABKJ projects include Harbor Steps, Harborview Medical Center Research and Training Facility, and Duke University Medical Center.

Group Mackenzie

Group Mackenzie, a regional architecture and engineering firm, added Michelle Platter as senior project manager and project construction manager in its Portland office.

Platter has 20 years of architectural and construction management experience with projects in California, Hawaii and Washington. She has completed projects ranging from $100,000 to over $100 million, including residential, commercial, governmental, educational and hospitality facilities. She is currently leading the construction management of the 24 Hour Fitness in Tualatin, Ore., and the Burnside Eastman Crossing project in Gresham, Ore.

Group Mackenzie, founded in 1960, provides multidisciplinary architectural, engineering and planning services for commercial, industrial and civic projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Kennedy/Jenks Consultants announced that John Zukowski has joined the Federal Way office as an associate engineer.

Zukowski has seven years of industrial experience in process engineering, design, maintenance, operations, plant optimization and utilities for the metal surface finishing industry, aerospace, microelectronics and wastewater pre-treatment. He has also worked as an inorganic and organic chemist and as a biopharmaceutical process engineering consultant.

Sclater Partners Architects, a full service architectural design and planning firm in Seattle, announced the addition of Michael Chaplin to the design team.

Chaplin brings 13 years of commercial office building and retail experience to the firm. He will assume the role of project manager for the retail portion of the new 1.4 million-square-foot Lincoln Square in Bellevue. In addition to his design and project management experience, he has established a quality review assurance process for construction documents. Chaplin will assist in the continued development of retail and office building clients.

Studio Meng Strazzara recently added Troy Johnson, architect and project manager, to its staff. Johnson joins the education studio to provide construction administration on Highline School District’s Madrona and Gregory Heights Elementary Schools. Coming from Bernardo-Wills Architects in Spokane, he brings 11 years experience in architecture and project management on a wide variety of projects. Studio Meng Strazzara is a 26 year-old Seattle-based architecture, engineering and planning firm.

R.W. Beck

Management consulting and engineering firm, R.W. Beck, Inc. announced the addition of three employees to the Seattle office.

Keith Parker is a senior project manager responsible for marketing and the delivery of planning and design services related to water and wastewater projects. Parker comes to R.W. Beck with more than 25 years of industry experience, and was most recently a manager for municipal services with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants. Parker holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Washington State University.

Jia Luo joins as an analyst supporting senior practitioners on management consulting assignments. Previously, Luo worked for Navigant Consulting. She has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing, and a master’s degree from Stanford University.

Analyst Brian Stoner will support senior practitioners in the management consulting practice. He has a background in mathematics, statistics and computer-based econometric modeling. Stoner holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington.

DKA recently added three employees to their staff. Brent Bird has 15 years of experience and is working on three renovation projects for the Seattle School District. Susan Palermo brings 20 years architectural firm experience to DKA's administrative support team. Christina Stewart has joined the firm as an intern in DKA's interior design department. DKA's staff of 20 provides comprehensive planning, architecture, interior design and design management.

Triad Associates

The Master Builders Association recently appointed George Newman, Triad Associates’ director of planning, to vice chair of the 2004 Snohomish County Developer Builder Issues Committee. He will use his planning experience in Snohomish County to help developers, builders and consultants address land development issues in Snohomish County.

Mark Keller joined Triad as a project engineer. He brings 14 years of experience to Triad, having worked at WSDOT and the Issaquah Major Development Review Team. He will apply his knowledge in infrastructure design and construction practices to projects across the Puget Sound. Rebecca Cushman, with seven years of industry experience, has been promoted to project engineer. She is working on Shamrock, a low impact development project for CamWest Development, and Trilogy at Redmond Ridge, a master planned community for Quadrant Homes/Shea Homes.

Triad Associates is a Kirkland-based land development consulting firm that specializes in project management, planning, landscape architecture, engineering and surveying.
