Pierce County announced Chambers Bay is the official name of the championship golf course to be constructed at the 930-acre Chambers Creek property, a former gravel mine. The course is set to open in 2007. Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports Management will be the development consultant and operate the course. Other team members are golf course architect Robert Trent Jones II of Palo Alto, Calif., site planner Berger ABAM of Federal Way and clubhouse architect Miller/Hull Partnership in association with CHA of Seattle.

Tacoma's Architects BCRA named
Robert McClendon senior designer,
Tom Dargan senior project engineer in its civil department, and
Chester Knight drafter and designer. McClendon worked with DLR Group Architects in Seattle on the New Academy Awards Center in Los Angeles. Dargan is working on Lakewood projects including Venture Bank's headquarters, and a child study and treatment center. Knight worked in furniture manufacturing and architectural design. Architects BCRA does architecture, planning, structural and civil engineering, interior design and graphic design.

Kelly Rench and
Jud Youell to associates. Rench leads marketing efforts. Senior project manager Youell is working on Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.
Andy Mitton and
Elizabeta Stacishin-Moura were promoted to senior project managers. Mitton is working on the Roosevelt High School renovation in Seattle. Stacishin-Moura is an urban designer and is working on South Lake Union projects such as Cascade Park Streetscapes.
Phillip Decker and
Susan Millinich were promoted to associate project managers. Decker has done waterfront parks in Clinton and on Whidbey Island. Millinich is working on a Salishan community redevelopment in Tacoma. Berger Partnership does landscape architectural and site planning.

Reidar Dittmann joined Group Mackenzie's Seattle office as a senior project architect and project manager. He is doing tenant improvements in downtown Seattle.
Valerie Robbins is a job captain and is working on commercial and corporate tenant improvements. The Seattle architecture and interior design firm also has offices in Portland and Vancouver.

David Boileau is an intern architect working on an addition at Capital High School for the Olympia school district. Project architect
Gene LaVaque does educational architecture and has led 15 school construction projects. He is designing two elementary schools for the Puyallup school district. Project architect
David Pool worked on the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, and additions at Tacoma's Stadium High School.
David Sadinsky designed kinetic structures for the aviation industry and icons for the entertainment industry. He is project designer on historic renovation at Seattle's Garfield High School. Tacoma-based BLRB Architects has done 500 school projects in Washington and Oregon.
Seattle-based Callison Architecture named the following to the new position of director: Robert Green, Michel Hebrant, Mark Henderson, Robin Holt, John Jex, Michael Lee, Ron Singler, Cindi Kato, John Mason, Mark Sopp and Yan Yang. Directors are responsible for driving change within the organization. Callison does planning and design for retail, hospitality, residental and health care clients around the world.
Architect Dirk McCulloch has joined Redmond-based Magellan Architects to lead the company's residential design team. He specializes in custom designs, additions, alterations and remodels. McCulloch was with Redmond's DDI Architecture & Planning, which provides home plans to builders and homeowners.
Anne Tabacek joined Saltmine On Site as a senior technical recruiter. Seattle-based Saltmine is an interactive agency that provides Web design, systems integration and technical staffing.
