Lloyd Wind has been named associate at KPFF Consulting Engineers. Wind has worked with clients such as the cities of Bothell and Marysville, and Sound Transit. Wind is working on the final design of the State Avenue and Bothell Corridor projects, and recently served as design manager for Sound Transit's Lakewood Commuter Rail Station.

The state Route 520 project office of Parametrix recently hired Mark Shelton as a senior planner. Shelton is working on the SR 520 bridge replacement and HOV Project, where he is responsible for the program and project schedule development and reporting, including tracking current work, development of alternative schedules, and analysis of costs and cash flows.

MulvannyG2 recently hired three senior associates: Ginger Wesley, business development manager, Valarie Kusuda-Smick, communications manager, and Jean Perrigo, operational controller. Wesley, a real estate and property management professional, is responsible for MulvannyG2's business development in the Puget Sound. Kusuda-Smick, who has more than 16 years of marketing, communications and sales experience, is responsible for strategic planning and corporate-wide communications and public relations. Perrigo, a certified public accountant with 15 years of experience, is responsible for managing project accountants, process improvements and enhancing internal controls and systems.

Sparling

Sparling recently added principals Bob Eastman, Jeff Hankin and Troy Thrun to its executive management committee, which is responsible for growth, leading firm-wide initiatives and implementing the strategic vision. Eastman joined the firm in 2003 and his current projects include Harborview Medical Center, Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton Colo., Loma Linda University and Washington State University. Hankin is a principal with more than 15 years experience in health care, corporate and retail industries. Thrun joined Sparling in 2000 and directs design of a range of project types. He is directing electrical and technology design teams on the WSU biotechnology/life sciences facility, Agua Caliente Cultural Museum in Palm Springs, Wing Luke Asian Museum and the Muckleshoot Casino expansion.

NBBJ

NBBJ recently announced seven new principals at its Seattle office. Dale Alberdattle has been an architect with NBBJ for three years and is working on the Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, and the Virginia Mason Medical Center Master Plan and East Campus project in Seattle. As a controller, Brenda Clark oversees the firm's domestic and international tax--related issues. Kay Compton is the design lead for NBBJ's commercial and mixed-use practice. Her current projects include a Bellevue development with more than 1 million square feet of office, retail, hotel and condominium space, and Seventh & Madison, a class-A office building in Seattle. Liz Jacks has more than 30 years experience in campus and institutional master planning and facility program planning, as well as strategic planning, financial, cost, operational and workload analysis. Her recent projects include Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and Stanford University Learning and Knowledge Center. Diane Lindberg-Nigh has 29 years of experience with NBBJ. Her work includes the new 315,000-square-foot inpatient hospital for Swedish Orthopedic Institute and Island Hospital in Anacortes. Lynne Shira, a registered nurse, has 32 years in the medical field and now works in NBBJ's health care consulting practice. She is working with the Swedish Medical Center Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle and the new San Carlos Center for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Nancy Waiss is responsible for coordinating facilities and office services across the firm. Her recent project was leading logistical efforts for the move from Pioneer Square to South Lake Union.

William Frare has joined the Washington State Department of Natural Resources as manager of engineering and general services manager. Frare has worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation, the California Department of Transportation, and Thurston County Roads and Transportation Services.

Erin Toraya, an architectural designer, recently joined Gensler's Seattle office. Toraya worked in Gensler offices in Charlotte, N.C., and San Ramon, Calif. Toraya is also pursuing her master's in architecture.

Anton

Jeff Losnegard joined Cierra Electrical Group as senior project manager and lighting designer. Mark Anton has joined as a senior electrical/project engineer. Losnegard's recent projects include a children's hospital in Honolulu and neonatal intensive care units in Bend, Ore. Anton is working on The Esplanade, a 176-unit condominium in Tacoma and the 21,000-square-foot expansion of the Wild Horse Casino in Pendleton, Ore.

Brent S. Compton has joined Northwest Architectural Co. as an associate and senior project manager, focusing on K-12 projects. Compton has worked on 22 high schools in the Puget Sound area, including as project manager on Ballard High School. He also served as lead construction administrator for The Evergreen State College Seminar II complex.

Triad Associates has promoted David Robertson to project principal. Robertson has 30 years' experience in surveying and joined Triad in 1998 as a senior project surveyor. He was promoted to survey project manager in 2003. Robertson oversees projects for Habitat for Humanity and Walsh Construction. Triad also promoted Barbara Staake to senior project engineer and Michael Moody to project engineer. Jordan Al-Kahtani was promoted to engineering designer, Mary Moore was promoted to engineering technician supervisor and Kevin Puckett was promoted to senior engineering technician.

Joseph Readdy, who has extensive experience in sustainable design, has joined Mahlum Architects in the Portland office. Before joining Mahlum, Readdy was vice president and principal of Urbswork, Inc. — urban designers for the Portland Development Commission's 55- acre Lloyd Crossing sustainable urban design plan.

Scott Mohr recently returned to Coffman's Seattle office. Mohr is a principal at Coffman with a background in project management. He will be working on a project for a large biotech firm in the Seattle area.

MulvannyG2 Architecture

MulvannyG2 Architecture hired Lawrence Yuan as principal and technical design lead of the Shanghai International Group based in Bellevue, with a regional office in Shanghai. The group's recent projects include a twin-tower hotel, office and retail mixed-use development in Hangzhou, China, and an island resort with a hotel, beach and hillside villas in Bahrain. The group is also doing urban planning in Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Yuan will manage all operations of the group, from quality control to business development in Shanghai and Bellevue.

Otak's Kirkland office added William Stevens, Carolyn Butchart and Amy Florence. Stevens is an engineer and is the Puget Sound development services director. Butchart, an engineer who has worked in Bellevue, Sydney and Oslo, joined the firm's water and natural resources group. Florence joins the marketing team as a proposal coordinator. The Vancouver office hired project manager Maureen Knutson to its water and natural resources group. Knutson has worked with Clark County Community Development in strategic planning and development review.
