Triad Associates

Triad Associates hired Rick McArdle as director of planning. McArdle was a senior associate at Shockey/Brent. He has been a land use planner for 29 years in Snohomish County, working on planning and land development projects for both public and private sector clients. Steve Buxton recently joined the firm as IT manager. He was previously IT director for Leisure Care retirement communities and is a Microsoft certified systems engineer.

CollinsWoerman

CollinsWoerman hired Stan Zintel as senior architect and project manager, and Elsa Dean as an interior designer. Zintel has 30 years' experience in master planning, programming, conceptual design and space planning. He is working on projects in health care, science and technology. Dean is responsible for leading interior design, including concept, design development and project detailing. She is working on projects for Group Health and Northwest Hospital.

BHC Consultants

BHC Consultants recently hired Jeffrey Howard as a principal engineer and Glenn Castillo as a CAD technician. Howard specializes in planning and design of wastewater systems. He is planning new wastewater facilities for the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. Castillo provides computer-aided design support to the engineering group. He is working on projects for the Alderwood Water and Wastewater District, Southwest Suburban Sewer District and the cities of Lake Forest Park, Lynden, Renton and Edmonds.

Art Anderson Associates

Art Anderson Associates has added three designers to its team of naval architects and marine engineers. Tullio Celano III joins the firm as a registered naval architect with experience in academic and government research on vessel design. He specializes in high-speed craft hydrodynamics and composite structural applications, and will be working on high-speed advanced marine vehicle development. Michael Tasso is an electrical designer. He will work on naval architecture and marine engineering contracts. Michael Binder joins the firm as an information technology professional with 10 years of experience in systems administration, server support and telephone and network systems. He will be responsible for the firm's network and information systems and will lend IT support.

Swenson Say Fagét added Liz Fekete and Ryan Reichman to its ownership group. Fekete has managed projects through completion and has a background in concrete systems. Current projects include Silverlake Center, Project Ace Project Retro and 17th & Madison. Reichman manages SSF’s Tacoma office. His projects include market street Art Lofts, The Commencement, Pioneer Place, Surfsand Resort and Venture Bank headquarters. Rachel Moskal joined as marketing manager. Moskal has eight years of experience in marketing communications and six years of industry experience.

The Portland architecture firm of Yost Grube Hall has added Kirk Conover and Gordon Gillan to its shareholders group and awarded additional shares to Steve Neiger, Miles Woofter, Nici Griffith and John Medvec. Conover’s projects include Humboldt State University’s Behavioral and Social Sciences Building. Gillan’s work includes offices for Miller Nash and the Science Center at Eastern Oregon University. He is working on a new mixed-use development in Bend, Ore., and a new U.S. embassy in Quito, Ecuador. Neiger is working on projects for Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus and the Oregon Episcopal School. Woofter recently completed work on the Central Computer Facility for the Oregon Department of Administrative Services and is working on the Quito embassy. Griffith’s projects include work for the Oregon National Primate Research Center and Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus. Medvec has worked on a variety of projects including the Public Safety Academy for the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, and overseas projects.

Fletcher Farr Ayotte, a Portland architecture, planning and interior design firm, recently promoted four staff members. Senior interior designer Karen Niemi, has been promoted to associate principal and Kerry Knauss, Tim Ganey and Seth Moran have been promoted to associate. Niemi has worked on award-winning projects for corporate office and institutional facilities. Knauss has worked on a variety of projects over the last 10 years, including many for the National Parks Service. Ganey’s portfolio includes award-winning projects in both the public and private realms. Moran has eight years of architectural experience, predominantly in the private sector.
