Marcus Valentine joined Architects West in Coeur d'Alene as a project architect. He has worked on custom homes, multifamily projects, office, public works, retail and renovations, both as an associate architect and principal. Architects West and Landmark Landscape Architects hired
Molly Teal. She recently passed the landscape architect registration exam and the Idaho Board has approved her application for licensure. Teal has worked on an athletic field for West Valley School District in Yakima, and The Landings Community Park in Coeur d'Alene.
Coffman Engineers hired
Tim Garoutte in the Seattle office as a senior project manager in the Mechanical Engineering department. He has 20 years of mechanical systems engineering experience and has worked on a variety of projects including HVAC, piping and plumbing systems. Garoutte has worked on facilities at McChord Air Force Base, and labs for the Institute for Systems Biology and MDS Pharma.

The Glosten Associates, a Seattle-based marine engineering and naval architecture firm, promoted
Timothy Leach, PE, to principal. The senior naval architect is the firm's resource in finite element analysis and structures. He will continue managing the naval architecture group, and serving as marketing lead with the research vessel community.
Justin Morgan, PE has been promoted to principal. He has 17 years of experience and specializes in structural design and analysis. He manages complex analysis projects, and will continue to manage the Ocean Engineering group and maintain the strength of the analysis team.
Lane Coburn & Associates, an electrical and telecommunications engineering firm, hired
Vicky Williams as an associate and senior electrical designer in the Bothell office. She has more than 26 years of experience on data centers/mission critical facilities as well as commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
Bill Waldrop has been promoted to senior associate. He has more than 30 years of experience in mission critical, commercial, municipal, institutional, industrial, airport, seaport and military projects.
Parametrix hired
Joe Merth, PE, as a bridge and structures engineer in the Sumner office. Merth has 16 years of experience with WSDOT bridge and structure projects, and will manage and design federal, state and local agency projects. Merth will be working on the I-5/116th Street Interchange and the Port of Tacoma Pier Improvements, and will continue as a panel member for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program.
Charlie Dougherty, PE, has been hired as a senior water supply and treatment engineer in the Bellevue office, and
Darold Woodward, PE, has been hired as a senior electrical engineer in the Sumner office. Dougherty has 30 years of experience in municipal water engineering projects. He will focus on managing water system planning and design projects. Woodward has 20 years of experience in electrical, SCADA and control systems for water, wastewater, and electric utilities.
TCF Architecture has promoted
Brian Ho to principal. He is a graduate of Montana State University and joined TCF five years ago. TCF is located in the Historic Stadium District of Tacoma.
Michael Newbury, principal at Sparling, was selected for the Washington affiliate position on the AIA Seattle Architecture for Health Panel 2010 Board. Newbury has spent the past 18 years working in the built environment, particularly in health care. The panel is a forum for architects and allied professionals interested in health care design.
