Waggoner

Gensler hired Scott Waggoner as a senior project manager in Seattle. Waggoner is a former associate principal and senior project manager for Callison. He has 30 years of experience on projects, including corporate headquarters, interiors and workplace, high-rise office, hospitality, high-tech, health care and mixed-use. Among them are Microsoft Studios West Campus expansion and the Fifth and Lenora tower with Vulcan, which Gensler said is scheduled to start construction this month. Gensler provides design, planning and strategic consulting from 43 offices on five continents.

McCunney

NK Architects hired Lauren McCunney as a project architect and Jens Muller as a senior project manager. McCunney has six years of experience on institutional and residential design. She also was project manager of an experimental prefabricated house at the Solar Decathlon. Muller has nearly 25 years of experience, including 10 years in Europe. He has worked on commercial, mixed-use and institutional projects, and done urban planning and landmark renovations.

Shafer

Jon Shafer has become a principal and joined the management team at Sider + Byers Associates. Shafer is responsible for project management, mechanical engineering design and business direction. His recent work includes multi-family projects for Plymouth Housing Group and Compass Alliance, and a social services and housing complex in Issaquah for the YWCA.

KPFF Consulting Engineers

Whiteman

KPFF Consulting Engineers hired Tom Whiteman as a senior bridge engineer in Seattle. Whiteman co-founded the bridge specialty design firm CES Inc. in 1995. He has designed post-tensioned, pre-stressed concrete and steel plate girder bridges and managed and performed more than 1,000 bridge inspections. He also developed feasibility studies of highway and railroad bridges. He worked on design of the Eells Street Cable Stay Bridge and the Murray Morgan bridge study in Tacoma.

Aspect Consulting

Haller

Aspect Consulting hired Dan Haller to lead its new Yakima office, supporting projects in central and eastern Washington. Haller is a senior water resource engineer with experience in water rights permitting and water resource engineering and management, and has a technical background in environmental engineering. He worked for Washington State Department of Ecology. Aspect provides water resources, environmental, and geologic services in four Washington offices.

SLR International

SLR International environmental consulting hired Christopher Generous as a principal geologist in Bothell to help grow the geosciences business in the Northwest. Generous has 25 years of experience in site assessment, characterization, soil and groundwater remediation, and project management. SLR has nearly 1,000 employees. The main U.S. office is in Bothell.

Farallon Consulting promoted Ken Scott to project scientist. Scott has eight years with the firm. He performs construction observation, drilling and well installation, tank assessment, and water quality monitoring and analysis. Issaquah-based Farallon provides environmental consulting.

In Seattle, it added Brad Helland as a senior associate, Payan Ole-MoiYoi as a geoscientist, Andrew Wade as a geologist, Lisa Hoffman as a project administrator in the finance department, Vanessa Johnson as a project assistant, and Madan Karkee and Brice Exley as geotechnical engineers. In Edmonds, it hired Hans Hurn as a biologist and Karis Pratt as a project assistant. In Portland, it added John Lawes as a geologist and Tim Blackwood and Greg Landau geotechnical engineers. In Vancouver, it hired Dan Trisler as geotechnical engineer and Sue Sooter as a project assistant. Helland specializes in contaminated sediment management and has worked in government and private industry for 19 years, including 10 with the state Department of Ecology. Ole-MoiYoi has five years of experience in geotechnical and environmental engineering and is supporting the SR 99 bored tunnel project. Wade has 11 years of experience on geotechnical projects. Hoffman has worked at engineering and science firms for 15 years. Johnson has a biology degree from St. Martins University. Karkee is returning to Hart Crowser and has 29 years of experience, including database system development for seismic hazard evaluation of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. Exley is supporting the SR 99 tunnel project. Hurn has experience in fisheries science and marine birds. Lawes has 18 years of experience on geotechnical projects. Blackwood has 18 years of experience, with a background in geologic hazards and sustainable practices. Landau has 12 years of experience, with a background in energy projects, transportation, dams and levees. Trisler has 17 years of experience on transportation and development projects. Sooter has been in office administration for 21 years. The environmental and engineering firm is based in Seattle.

EHS Design hired Danielle Nevils as an interior designer and Roberto Ramirez and Megan Murdock an intern architects. Nevils has three years of experience in library, corporate, housing and public works projects. Ramirez has six years of experience in health care, hospitality, housing and tribal projects. Murdock has four years experience in theaters and restaurants, and is working on the Washington State Convention Center renovation. EHS is an interior design and architecture firm located in Seattle.

Element Solutions

Element Solutions hired Letitia Wheeler as a senior environmental project manager. Wheeler is a biologist and ecologist with 15 years of experience in environmental services and land use planning, including SEPA and NEPA documentation. The applied science, engineering and surveying company is based in Bellingham.

PacLand

PacLand promoted Nick Taylor to associate. He has been with the firm for four years and has more than seven years of experience in civil engineering, transportation design, planning, and project management in the Northwest. PacLand provides engineering and planning.
