Wood Harbinger of Bellevue hired Mark Leinenwever as principal of mechanical engineering. Leinenwever has more than 25 years of experience with medical, higher education, laboratory, military, and commercial projects. He will lead sustainability efforts and manage large projects. He was a partner-in-charge at Notkin Engineers. Wood Harbinger provides mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering as well as technology services and building commissioning.
Hargis Engineers promoted Patrick Shannon to associate principal and Brian Cannon, Svetlana Warner and Brad Slatton to associate. Shannon has experience with advanced telecommunications, electronic security, audio/visual and wireless systems for commercial, municipal, correctional and academic clients. Cannon is a mechanical engineering project manager who has supported school, municipality and technology clients, including Seattle Public Schools. Warner has 20 years of experience with retail and commercial clients, including as project manager for Nordstrom projects. Slatton has a background in corporate finance and tools for fiscal information. Hargis is a mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and electronic security consulting firm in Seattle.
Eric Nordlund joined Metrix Engineers as an associate. He has supported design and construction of K-12 facilities. Metrix Engineers is a mechanical engineering consulting firm in Renton.
Issaquah-based Farallon Consulting promoted Javan Ruark to project geologist and hired Christian E. Houck as a principal engineer in the Seattle office. Ruark has 5 years of experience in environmental consulting: in soil, groundwater, and air sampling; monitoring well installation; historical data analysis; and excavation. He also has experience in soil vapor sampling and remediation system installation. Houck will provide environmental investigation and engineering, focusing on strategic regulatory planning. Houck has 24 years of experience in environmental consulting, specializing in contaminated sediment investigation and remedies. Farallon provides environmental consulting.

Seattle-based PSF Mechanical hired Jim Loewen as an energy and sustainability engineer in the energy services division. He will provide technical information on energy efficiency and facility optimization. Loewen has experience in energy analysis and engineering, including for banks, and co-authored the “Master Facilities Energy Plan” for The Boeing Co.'s Everett facility. PSF provides mechanical engineering construction and consulting and energy services.

Thomas Dargan joined BergerABAM in Federal Way. He has 12 years of civil engineering experience. He has worked on federal design/build work, including military installations, schools and state government projects. He is working on FY12 infrastructure upgrades on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. BergerABAM provides civil and structural engineering, land use planning, natural resources, public involvement, landscape architecture, surveying, construction management and support, and dive services.

Raj Bharil joined the Hardesty & Hanover engineering firm as Western USA business director, focused on expanding business development and operations in that region. Bharil will be based in Lacey. He is a civil and structural engineer with 25 years experience as a designer, inspector, project engineer, project manager and project principal on roads and bridges. He was a principal with David Evans and Associates. He has worked on the I-405 design-build bridges and structures for WSDOT.

GeoTest Services hired Edwardo (Ed) Garcia as a project geotechnical engineer in Arlington. Garcia has more than 12 years of geotechnical engineering experience, mostly in Snohomish, King, Skagit, and Island counties. That has included utility, residential, recreational, commercial, industrial and municipal developments. GeoTest provides geotechnical engineering, environmental, construction special inspection, and materials testing services.

Trindera Engineering, an electrical and control systems engineering firm based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, hired Barbara Barker as a lighting consultant. Barker has 25 years of experience in lighting design. She previously worked at DEI Electrical Consultants in Spokane. Trindera provides electrical, controls, lighting and specialty systems.
