Parametrix hired Steven Metz as a senior member in the rail transit practice. Metz has more than 24 years of engineering experience, and training in architecture and business administration. He worked for an international consulting firm in Portland and has managed the integration of multi-discipline design teams. His work includes Sound Transit's North Corridor project. Parametrix provides engineering, planning, and environmental sciences.
BergerABAM promoted Ruba Zumut to vice president. She will focus on expanding work with governmental agencies. Zumut has 24 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and construction support on residential, commercial, correctional, institutional and military projects. BergerABAM provides civil and structural engineering, land use planning, natural resources, public involvement, landscape architecture, surveying, construction management and support, and dive services.
Jacobs Associates civil engineering firm promoted Seattle-based Isabelle Lamb and Gregg Davidson to principal. Lamb is its first female principal. An engineering geologist for 20 years, she has done tunnel design and geotechnical consulting in the U.S. and abroad. Lamb is project manager for North Link Light Rail. Davidson has 24 years of experience in design and construction management of tunnel and underground projects around the world, including transportation, water and wastewater conveyance, and hydropower. He is project manager for the Gorge 2nd Hydropower tunnel.
Yakima-based KDF Architecture promoted Megan Beyer from project manager to associate. Beyer has worked on clinics and is working on the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center.
Chris Rayasam joined Otak as chief financial officer. He was corporate controller and director of IT for Hemmera Invirochem, and led implementation of Deltek Vision software and a disaster recovery plan. Rayasam has also worked in management at Aecom/Boyle Engineering Corp. Otak provides engineering, urban design, architecture and planning.
Harmsen & Associates hired Michael E. Ryan as a project manager in its civil engineering division. He was director of engineering at HBA Design Group, and has worked on highway, runway, road and rail projects and small earth-moving jobs. At Harmsen, he focuses on land development. The firm also provides land surveying, landscape architecture and planning.
Maul Foster & Alongi hired Justin Clary as a senior environmental engineer in Bellingham. Clary is city manager for Ridgefield, and has worked in environmental consulting. MFA provides environmental engineering and planning.

Wood Harbinger of Bellevue hired Mark Leinenwever as principal of mechanical engineering. Leinenwever has more than 25 years of experience with medical, higher education, laboratory, military, and commercial projects. He will lead sustainability efforts and manage large projects. He was a partner-in-charge at Notkin Engineers. Wood Harbinger provides mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering as well as technology services and building commissioning.
Hargis Engineers promoted Patrick Shannon to associate principal and Brian Cannon, Svetlana Warner and Brad Slatton to associate. Shannon has experience with advanced telecommunications, electronic security, audio/visual and wireless systems for commercial, municipal, correctional and academic clients. Cannon is a mechanical engineering project manager who has supported school, municipality and technology clients, including Seattle Public Schools. Warner has 20 years of experience with retail and commercial clients, including as project manager for Nordstrom projects. Slatton has a background in corporate finance and tools for fiscal information. Hargis is a mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and electronic security consulting firm in Seattle.
Eric Nordlund joined Metrix Engineers as an associate. He has supported design and construction of K-12 facilities. Metrix Engineers is a mechanical engineering consulting firm in Renton.
Issaquah-based Farallon Consulting promoted Javan Ruark to project geologist and hired Christian E. Houck as a principal engineer in the Seattle office. Ruark has 5 years of experience in environmental consulting: in soil, groundwater, and air sampling; monitoring well installation; historical data analysis; and excavation. He also has experience in soil vapor sampling and remediation system installation. Houck will provide environmental investigation and engineering, focusing on strategic regulatory planning. Houck has 24 years of experience in environmental consulting, specializing in contaminated sediment investigation and remedies. Farallon provides environmental consulting.
