WHPacific promoted Heather N. C. Brown to marketing manager for the Northwest region, supervising staff in Portland and Seattle. She has 10 years of experience in marketing, including five in architecture and engineering. WHPacific provides building engineering, land development, water resources, survey, architecture, scanning, and transportation services.

The Philbin Group Landscape Architecture of Bellingham hired Patricia Lenssen as a landscape architect and project manager. She has nine years of experience on public and private projects. She has worked for HBB Landscape Architecture and Cascade Design Collaborative, and done landscape design and construction administration for park, road, playground, housing and school projects.








Integrus Architecture promoted a number of people to associate. In the Seattle office, they are: Patrick Donnelly and Daniel Gero, project architects; Amy Vanderhorst, architect/project manager; Matthew Sullivan, architect/project designer; Loretta Sachs, project manager; and Sam Schafer, intern architect. In the Spokane office, they are: Megan Ayers, engineering technician, and Mary Theil, facility security officer/administrative supervisor. Integrus provides architectural, planning, interior design, structural engineering and security design services.

Portland-based FFA Architecture and Interiors hired Stewart Thompson as a senior design associate. Thompson has 20-plus years of design experience, working on projects for the NPS, USDA Forest Service, BLM, state parks, and local governments. His experience includes historic preservation, and new construction in Landmark National Historic Districts. FFA provides architecture, planning, historic preservation and interior design.
Helix Design Group hired Kellie Kaiser as a project architect, Desiree Bush and Sara Groves as interior designers, and Shannon Kopp as senior marketing coordinator. Kaiser was previously a design manager for M3 Messenger Corp. in Seattle. Bush and Groves previously were interior designers for Starbucks Coffee Co. in Seattle. Kopp most recently was marketing coordinator for Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Tacoma. Helix is based in Tacoma and provides architecture, planning, interior design, graphic design and project management.

Laura Leach has joined SPVV Landscape Architects in Spokane as a landscape designer. She will design, estimate and manage governmental, commercial and educational projects. Her projects include the Gonzaga University Grotto. Leach was a landscape design intern with SPVV, which provides landscape architecture and planning.





Reid Middleton hired Ben Sommer as a project engineer, Melanie Haagsma as an airport designer and Andrea Rose as a technical editor. It promoted Corbin Hammer to senior engineer and Kathleen Baxter to marketing coordinator. Sommer has eight years of project management experience and is in the airport engineering group. He previously worked for Murray, Smith & Associates. Haagsma is also on the airport team, and has worked at Harmsen and Associates in Monroe. Rose has 20 years of administrative, editing, writing and marketing experience. She worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff for 11 years, eight of them as a technical editor. Hammer is in Reid Middleton's structural practice, working primarily in the civic, aviation and health care sectors, including the Delta Air Lines SkyClub at SeaTac. Baxter has been technical editor for three years at Reid Middleton, and has experience in public relations and public affairs. Reid Middleton provides civil and structural engineering, planning and surveying.


DCI Engineers hired Stephanie Aden as marketing coordinator and Kyle Cossette as a structural engineer, both in the Spokane office. Aden has 15 years of sales and marketing experience. She provides marketing materials and oversees public relations and business development. Cossette has eight years of design experience, and is working on the Northtown Mall renovation in Spokane. DCI is a civil and structural consulting engineering firm.

PACE Engineers hired Joe Simmler as senior principal engineer in the Kirkland office. Simmler holds a Ph.D. and specializes in surface water management programs. PACE is a civil and structural engineering, planning and surveying firm.

Art Anderson Associates re-hired Doug Koenen as a senior mechanical engineer. Koenen worked at the Bremerton engineering firm from 1990—1997 and from 2005—2008. He also was a project engineer with the Washington State University extension energy program, and worked at PSF Mechanical. He will do mechanical design and project management, and is working on projects for Bremerton School District and Lockheed Martin.
