In Seattle, MG2 elected Myra Vaughn as a shareholder and hired Adrian Lam, Shannon Suess, Karen Chalmers and Janelle Schneider as senior associates. In Washington, D.C., it promoted Eric Marks to associate principal. Vaughn has over 20 years of experience, and has relationships with major retailers. Last year, she was promoted to principal in the Seattle office. Lam works in the commercial studio and has over 20 years of experience on commercial, retail and residential projects. He will help manage retail projects for domestic and international clients. Suess is in the commercial studio, and focuses on hospitality projects. She will provide direction through design development for large projects. In the past 10 years, she designed luxury hotels in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Chalmers is in the retail studio, and will work with clients on new retail concepts. She worked for Starbucks' internal store design team for 15 years, including supervising programs to ensure brand consistency in the Asia Pacific region. Schneider is in the retail studio, and will manage selection and delivery of interior architecture finishes, casework and fixture concepts, and work on new concept designs. She was a senior production manager for Nordstrom. Marks, an architect, has been a senior associate, working on retail, office and master planning projects. He will now also lead clients through complex design and construction projects. MG2 provides architecture, planning, interior design, brand strategy, and consulting services, with offices also in Irvine, California, and Shanghai.

Otak hired Chris Collins as an engineering designer and water resource analyst, and Stephanie Modjeski as a wetland scientist in the Everett and Redmond offices. Collins has experience in soil mechanics, hydraulic engineering, engineering hydrology, geospatial data applications, fluid mechanics, stormwater management and stream restoration. He is working on dike repairs and improvements in Everett. Modjeski has experience in wetland classification and delineation, ecological analyses, restoration and field botany, data collection, ArcGIS software and environmental law. She is working on Warren G. Magnuson Park monitoring. Otak is an urban design, architecture, planning and engineering firm.

In Seattle, Sazan Group hired Ken Billington as a senior construction manager and Loreli Floresca as an electrical designer. Billington has 25 years of experience in MEP engineering, including design, construction and commissioning. He has worked on projects for Boeing and Washington State University. Floresca has five years of experience on commercial and industrial projects, and is experienced in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Sazan provides mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineering, information technology systems consulting, commissioning, value engineering, and owner representation services, with an office also in Portland.

Seattle-based Magnusson Klemencic Associates hired Kevin Carroll as Building Information Model manager and Sarah Moline as communications and marketing manager. Carroll leads the BIM department and has 28 years of experience as an AEC professional. He is an architect, and has taught Revit and 3D modeling at Pierce College. Moline leads the marketing department. She has 15 years of marketing, communications and management experience, most recently with Crane Aerospace & Electronics. She works with MKA's leaders on strategic communication and marketing. MKA provides structural and civil engineering.

In Seattle, Sazan Environmental Services hired Joel Davis as managing principal. Davis has 20 years of experience leading value studies, constructability reviews, cost estimating, commissioning and condition assessments, and has managed on-call contracts for Sound Transit and other agencies. Sazan provides commissioning, value engineering, building performance optimization, energy audits, and HVAC Test-Adjust-Balance and construction services.

It promoted Stan Barter, Katie Hunt, Jenna McPherson, Nicole Allen, Samantha Surath, Marshall Turner, Robert Lochner and Louis Foster to associate. Youngblood is in the interiors group in Seattle. She is working on Westpointe Career and Technical Education Center at Salt Lake Community College. Dawson is in the Portland office. She designed the first Cross Laminated Timber structure built in Oregon at the Oregon Zoo. Orona is in the Portland interiors group. He worked on Marcus Mariota Sports Performance Center at the University of Oregon. Kogut is in the Portland office, and on the team for Multnomah County Central Courthouse. Barter works in Portland and oversaw construction administration of the Center for Radiochemistry Research at Oregon Health and Science University. Hunt is in Seattle and working on the Student Recreation Center at South Seattle College. McPherson is in the Portland interiors group. She is involved in SRG's emerging professionals group, diversity initiative and mentorship group. Allen joined the marketing team in 2012 and works in Portland. Surath, in the Seattle office, is working on WSU North Puget Sound at Everett. Turner was hired in 2015 and is on the Seattle marketing team. Lochner works in Portland, on projects that include Glenwood CLT Parking Garage in Springfield, Oregon. Foster works in Portland, on projects that include Portland State University's School of Business Administration.
