In Seattle, B+H promoted Joslyn Balzarini and Bryan Croeni to principal, Bryan Berg, Jill Jago, Judd Eddy, Susanna Sovek and Tamara Erikson to senior associate and Kari Kaufman and Pepe Valle to associate. Balzarini is founding member of the B+H Seattle studio. She has done interior design for Microsoft projects and helped build the studio's hospitality interior design portfolio. Croeni is a founding member of the Seattle studio and a leader of the global consulting practice. Berg is a design director and senior strategist with over 20 years of experience in experiential graphic design. He has developed wayfinding and environmental graphic design programs for Amazon and complex projects worldwide. Jago is director of B+H's Advance Strategy consulting practice. She has over 25 years of communications experience. She will be scaling Advance Strategy across B+H, including the training and development of talent, and research and development. Eddy is a senior project manager and has been project director and manager of large mixed-use projects in the U.S. and internationally. He is working on a mixed-use project at 1520 Fifth Ave. in Seattle. Sovek is human resources manager, USA. She runs HR for the Seattle and LA studios. The firm said she has implemented HR process improvements and works to empower a vibrant culture and healthy workplace. Erikson is senior project manager, studio operations lead. She has led interior design projects for corporations in the region. Kaufman is a senior project manager and interior designer who works on corporate Microsoft interiors. Valle is a technical architect who coordinates team project assignments. He has implemented process improvements and guides and leads projects.


In Bellevue, Freiheit Architecture appointed Paige Lauer to director of interior design. Lauer has 20 years of experience in the design industry through her work as an interior designer and project manager for commercial interiors. She is succeeding Lori Saleba, who is stepping into the new interior design advisor position. Freiheit is a commercial architecture and interior design firm.

Ashley Cagle joined the Spokane office of GLR Engineers as a structural project manager. Cagle has eight years of structural engineering experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, and her specialty is podium type structures. She is working on a Marriott Residence Inn in Hesperia, California.
DLR Group added seven professionals to its Seattle Studio. They are Blaine Pannell, business development; Beth Ross, interiors; Daniel Cowden and Dan Murray, architecture; and Scott Pettit, Nathan Tirk and William Ragland, Ph.D., structural engineering. The global integrated design firm provides architecture, engineering, interiors, planning and building optimization.

In Bellevue, Mike Wongkaew, Ph.D., joined HNTB Corp. as national tunnel practice lead-Northwest and associate vice president. He oversees tunneling on Sound Transit West Seattle and Ballard Link extension projects. His experience in structural and tunnel engineering and project management includes designing the first single-pass steel fiber reinforced precast concrete segmental tunnel lining in the U.S. for Portland's East Side CSO tunnel; leading design for 22 route miles of high-speed train tunnel in California; and providing technical oversight for the SR99 bored tunnel in Seattle. HNTB is an infrastructure firm.


In Seattle, Bassetti Architects promoted Judy Yeoh to associate principal. In Portland, it promoted Joe Echeverri to principal. Yeoh has worked on complex buildings and has a background in production, detailing, specifications and quality control. Echeverri leads the Portland office and has played a key role in its growth. His recent projects include Roosevelt, Tigard and Tualatin high schools and Five Oaks Middle School. He is leading design on the renovation and additions at Benson High School.




Seattle-based Hewitt promoted John Reynders to associate and hired Hans Fagerlund, Laura Graden-Cotts and Jasmine McNeil as architecture staff. Reynders is in the mixed-use and residential architecture studio where he has contributed to design for Mama Tower (1516 Second Ave.), 5th & Roy and Asian Plaza mixed-use developments, plus design of the Clean Energy Technology Center in Snohomish County. Fagerlund is an associate and project manager with 19 years of experience on multi-family, mixed-use residential projects, as well as adaptive re-use, hospitality, commercial and higher education. He is managing design development for the 222 Dexter condo tower. Graden-Cotts has a master in architecture from the University of Idaho and five years of experience. She is managing architecture construction administration for Northgate and Roosevelt light rail stations. McNeil is a Virginia Tech University graduate. She is assisting with architecture construction administration for two stations on Northgate Link. Hewitt provides architecture, landscape architecture and urban design.



In Seattle, Jackson | Main Architecture promoted architects Steven Bohlman and Dan Rasmusson and interior designer Adrianne Martin to associate. They will help grow the company, and lead initiatives on culture, sustainability and technology. Jackson | Main provides architecture, master planning and interior design.

Hayden, Idaho-based Allwest Testing & Engineering hired Taryn Perry as vice president of business operations. Perry will oversee accounting, human resources, information technology and business development. She was with Trindera Engineering for nearly 13 years.

Peter Wurden-Foster of the Bellingham office of BHC Consultants received a Washington engineering license. He has five years of civil engineering experience on stormwater, sewer, water and fish passage projects. BHC is a municipal services consulting firm.
