In Seattle, Bassetti Architects promoted Aleks Janjic to associate and Kristian Kicinski to director of sustainability. In Portland, the firm promoted Deepa Bharatkumar to associate. Janjic is senior technical architect on a new high school and new elementary school for the Issaquah School District. Kicinski will lead Bassetti's mission to advance green building, sustainability and high performance design and will facilitate the training of staff to increase their knowledge of high performance design. Bharatkumar will continue to develop her senior architect skills, mentor teammates and lead projects. She is managing several projects for Vancouver Public Schools.

Geotechnical and environmental engineering firm Shannon & Wilson appointed Christopher Darrah and Michael D. Harney to its board of directors. Darrah is a vice president who has spent his career at the firm. He joined the Seattle office in 1987, transferred to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1992 and is now the Fairbanks office manager. He has worked on hazardous assessment, cleanup and monitoring projects in Alaska.

Harney is a senior associate geotechnical engineer. He has over 18 years of experience in geotechnical design, construction and research and has worked on civil engineering and construction projects involving a range of soil and rock types. His geotechnical engineering includes studies and recommendations for projects, among them highway and rail transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure and hydropower dams and facilities, and a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear power facility.

Kirkland-based Dibble Engineers Inc. hired Amy Chollman as a project engineer, Josh Pugh as a project manager, Lindsey Peterson as a design engineer and Bruce Johnson and Michael Brewer as CADD designers. Chollman is working on a structural collapse investigation, single-story commercial structures and residential remodels in the greater Seattle area. For the past five years, she was with regional firms in Oklahoma City, designing Federal Emergency Management Agency tornado shelters and hospitals, and working on the Oklahoma Capitol Building restoration. Pugh has a doctorate in structural engineering from the University of Washington, has been a consulting engineer for over 10 years and taught structural engineering at Seattle University. He is working on new residential projects and retrofit projects using various construction materials.

Peterson is an engineer in training with a bachelor's in civil engineering from Gonzaga University. She is working on new and existing residential buildings and an anchorage system for an aerial tram. Johnson is working on home remodeling, repair and new construction projects as a structural CADD designer. He has over 20 years of experience as a CADD drafter and was with Aerotek, providing drafting of life safety, fire alarm and other security systems. Brewer has 15 years of industry experience, including the last five creating shops drawings for architectural metal fabrications at Five Star Metals in Seattle. DEI is a structural engineering firm.

Seattle-based landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol promoted Kara Weaver to senior associate and Laurel Li, Alex McCay, Hannah Vondrak and Joanie Walbert to associate. Weaver has nearly 15 years of experience designing and documenting public projects ranging from conceptual and interpretive master plans to precise detailing and tight grading over structure. She is project manager for Civic Park at Hemisfair in San Antonio, Texas, the Health Sciences Education Building at the University of Washington in Seattle and the master plan for John Trevino Jr. Metropolitan Park in Austin, Texas.

Li was hired in 2015. She has worked on Umekita 2 in Osaka, Japan, Oceanwide in San Francisco, California, and Cedar Town Center Master Plan in Woodinville. McCay has a background in business. His design work at GGN has included Hazelwood Green Plaza in Pittsburgh, the Civic Park at Hemisfair, and Rainier Square in Seattle. Vondrak joined GGN in 2016 and has worked on the Athens Chancery major rehabilitation at the American Embassy in Athens, Greece, 900 New York in Washington, D.C., and the REI Headquarters in Bellevue. Walbert was hired in 2015 and has worked on public parks to private campuses, including Long Beach Civic Center in California, and Smith Cove Park and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Campus, both in Seattle.

Seattle-based architecture and interior design firm Clark Barnes promoted Mike Hatcher to associate. Hatcher has over 15 years of architectural experience, the last four as project manager for multifamily, commercial and civic projects. His recent work includes Elara, a 150-unit apartment project near Pike Place Market, and the 77-unit Adell Apartments near Alaska Junction.

Steven A. Samuelson joined Schnabel Engineering as a senior associate engineer in the Seattle office. Samuelson is a civil engineer experienced in structural analyses of hydraulic structures. He specializes in computer modeling of concrete dams and has evaluated concrete arch, buttress and gravity dams. He has been a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission-approved independent consultant since 2002 at 21 sites in the West and Midwest. Schnabel participates in planning, study, design and construction of geotechnical, dam and tunnel engineering projects.

In Portland, architecture firm SRG Partnership promoted Laurel Danielson, Bethany Gelbrich and Trevor Lavoie to senior associate, Leslie Boll to associate and Jordan Iseler to marketing manager there. In Seattle, SRG promoted Mike Canales and Kristopher Chan to associate.

Danielson, a designer, has nearly 30 years of experience and has led interior design and architectural projects. Her key projects include Multnomah County Central Courthouse, the Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Research Building and libraries, labs and academic buildings. Gelbrich has 18 years of architecture experience which includes the University of Oregon Jane Sanders Stadium, Washington State University Bohler Gym programming, and other sports and higher education projects. Lavoie has 18 years of experience including higher education science and research facilities such as the University of California, Davis Equine Performance Center and the Washington State University Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building.

Boll, SRG's brand designer, has over 15 years of experience. She is responsible for the graphic design and branding of SRG's print, web and collateral materials, as well as the art direction of photography. Her environmental graphics work includes Salt Lake City Community College Westpointe Career and Technical Education Center. Iseler is marketing manager in Portland. She has a background in architecture and has managed the project-pursuit process and marketing and business development initiatives. Canales has five years of experience with a background in construction documents and administration. His work includes the Alaska Airlines Lounge at Sea-Tac Airport and the Museum of Flight Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. Chan has six years of experience on architectural design projects. He is working on Hayward Field at the University of Oregon and the EvergreenHealth aging infrastructure and seismic improvement project in Kirkland. SRG provides programming, planning, architecture and interior design.
