Blueline hired Alan McWain as director of landscape architecture. McWain has 20 years of experience assembling multi-discipline teams and working with public and private clients. Most recently, he was the director of landscape architecture at Katerra, and was with Hewitt prior to that. He will lead the landscape architecture studio at Blueline. The firm provides civil engineering, land use planning and landscape architecture services.





Structural engineering firm Cary Kopczynski & Co. hired Joel Policarpio, Dmitriy Penzin and Amanda Featherstone as design engineers, and promoted Stephanie Vincent to level 3 design engineer and Allina Hakim to senior marketing coordinator in the Bellevue headquarters and Chicago office. Policarpio has nine years of experience in structural analysis and design of urban buildings including commercial and mixed-use developments. His current projects include BB6, a mixed-use development comprised of two 480-foot towers atop a seven-level podium, and 9th & Howell, a 30-story hotel over a six-story podium adjacent to the new Hyatt Regency, both in Seattle. Penzin has 15 years of experience in structural design of residential projects in the U.S. and internationally. He will assist project managers and principals with coordination and design. Among his current projects are Calle De Luna which includes three 12-story residential towers atop a shared podium in Santa Clara, California. Featherstone has 13 years of experience in gravity and lateral design of structures for educational, office, residential and mixed-use buildings. She will assist project managers and principals with coordination and design of building elements and is working on Harbor Point Block P6, a 15-story residential tower in Stamford, Connecticut. Vincent has five years at CKC. She engineers complex building systems while handling design coordination and calculations. Her current projects include Belltown 36, a 29-story mixed-use tower in Seattle; and 325 7th Street, a twin tower development comprised of 27 and 13 stories in downtown Oakland. Hakim will continue to lead in preparing responses to complex, multi-million-dollar pursuits while managing the company's business relations and mainstream marketing initiatives.

Art Anderson, a Bremerton-based multidisciplinary engineering services firm, hired Matthew Jamison as a CAD designer. Jamison will work in the marine division, and do detailed design and drafting of ship systems. His experience as a shipfitter, which allowed for hands-on problem solving, will be an asset.

Integrus Architecture promoted Theresa Daniel to associate principal, which makes her a firm shareholder. Daniel will direct the Seattle structural engineering group and participate in the firm's equity commitment and quality assurance leadership groups. She has spent almost 20 years as a structural engineer with Integrus, having developed a highly focused understanding for design and construction specific to public buildings, in particular learning environments. Integrus provides architecture, planning, interior design and structural engineering.







Seattle-based Graham Baba Architects hired Caitlin Molenaar as an interior and architectural designer, and Will Wheaton, Christopher L. Vander Haak, Cassie Hillman Picard, Taehyung Kim, Whitney Madison and Lauren Keene as architectural designers. Molenaar holds masters of interior architecture and product design from Kansas State University. She is working on amenity spaces and a food hall for a corporate campus. Wheaton has experience in industrial design and carpentry, and has taught drawing and entry level architecture courses. He has a master of architecture degree from the University of Washington and a bachelor's in general studies with a focus on industrial design from Western Washington University. He is working on 2100 M Street in Washington, D.C., and the 1617 Boylston adaptive reuse on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Vander Haak was a summer intern at the firm. He has a bachelor's in visual communication design from Seattle Pacific University and a master of architecture from the UW. He is working on the Ethan Stowell Tavern and Rubenstein Bagels in the Via6 building in Seattle. Hillman Picard has over 16 years of experience, with work on projects that includes K-12, higher education, small public and houses. She is working on the Salmon Bay redevelopment of an industrial site along on the Ballard waterfront. Kim is experienced in spatial design, art direction, strategies and research, design education and production management. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from the University of Waterloo. He is working on amenity spaces for Pike Motor Works in Seattle and Tutta Bella's Stone Way and Issaquah locations. Madison has a background in high-end residential and commercial design. She holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Oregon. She is focusing on residential projects in the Puget Sound region, including a waterfront house on Bainbridge Island. Keene has experience with a mix of project types and scales ranging from exhibitions to infrastructure. She has a bachelor of fine arts degree from Middlebury College and a masters of architecture from the UW. She is working on studies for the adaptive reuse of existing and historic structures in Seattle and a studio residence for a printmaker.
