Global architectural design practice MG2 hired architect Ben Gist as a principal in its Seattle office. Gist will lead the firm's mid-rise and multifamily housing markets. He was an associate principal at Mithun and has over 20 years of experience partnering with clients in West Coast cities. Some of his recent projects include The Huxley in West Seattle, Arras residential community in Bellevue and the UC Irvine Middle Earth Towers, which received the DBIA Western Pacific Region Design-Build Design Excellence Award and Regional Award in 2020. MG2 provides strategic planning, interior design, brand strategy and architectural and consulting services.




Seattle-based EHS-International hired Jennifer Moore as managing principal, David Braungardt as technical director, Riyaz Syed as principal of health and safety services and Shonnessy Gilmore as a certified industrial hygienist. Moore has 19 years of environmental consulting experience. She has managed environmental due diligence, environmental compliance auditing, stormwater program management, environmental permit compliance, hazardous materials and waste management, subsurface investigations, visible emissions air monitoring, and safety and environmental training. Braungardt has 29 years of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management and environmental consulting experience. His project experience includes managing industrial hygiene, air monitoring, environmental site assessments, remediation and demolition. Syed is a certified industrial hygienist, safety professional and a hazardous materials manager with more than 23 years of industrial hygiene and environmental health and safety consulting experience. He has experience implementing EHS strategies, identifying hazards, evaluating risks and preventing incidents. Gilmore is a safety professional with seven years of industry experience in occupational health and safety. That includes overseeing health and safety at universities, airports, public works, military bases and federal buildings. Her project experience includes soil remediation, ergonomics, worker safety and protection, industrial hygiene and environmental health. EHS-International specializes in environmental consulting and engineering, hazardous materials management, industrial hygiene, construction management and indoor air quality consulting.

In Seattle, Sazan Environmental Services promoted Jack Newman to director of clean energy solutions, Astrid Santiago to senior project manager and Sam Wright to senior sustainability consultant. Newman is a certified renewable energy professional with more than 10 years of experience in clean energy and sustainability. He is president of the board of directors for Solar Washington and focuses on zero net energy design, microgrid systems and energy storage solutions for Clean Buildings and Clean Energy Transformation Act compliance. Santiago is a value methodology associate and LEED Green Associate with five years of experience in built environment sustainability and data analysis. She manages facility condition assessments, value engineering/constructability reviews and sustainability consulting projects, with a focus on post-occupancy energy performance monitoring and reporting. Wright is a certified sustainable building advisor and Living Future accredited professional with seven years of experience in the green building industry. He is a performance auditor for Living Building Challenge certification, providing technical and process guidance during project planning and design. Sazan Environmental Services helps optimize building design and performance through third-party review, sustainability consulting and asset management services.
