Ankrom Moisan, a firm specializing in integrated architectural, interior design, planning, and brand, has hired Hao Duong as a healthcare principal. Duong will be amplifying the business development strategy and overseeing project delivery for AM's healthcare sector in Washington and Oregon. Duong's recent projects included supporting the work of Odessa Brown Children's Clinic, Neighborcare, and Grady Health System in revealing how the built environment can support their efforts to eliminate health disparities through education and social justice. He has worked with clients of varying scales including New York University, Nationwide Children's, University of Washington, Virginia Mason, UCSF, and Seattle Children's. Duong received a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Ankrom Moisan was founded in 1983, and today has offices in Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Goins

Rolluda Architects hired Tony Goins and Jessica Lentner as project architects. Goins was born and raised in Japan. He earned both a bachelor of arts in architectural design and a master of architecture from the University of Washington. He is a licensed architect in Washington state and is a Certified Passive House Consultant. He is currently working on projects for King County Solid Waste and Waste Treatment. Lentner has rejoined Rolluda Architects after three years practicing on the East Coast. Lentner was born and raised in Massachusetts. She earned a bachelor of arts in art history from Vassar College and a master's in architecture from Virginia Tech. She is a licensed architect who has worked on projects in Washington state and Florida, focusing on municipal, community, and educational projects. She recently earned her WELL AP certification, dedicated to design focused on sustainability and user wellness. She is currently working on projects for King County Solid Waste.

Säzän Group promoted Niels Fallisgaard, EDAC, PMP, FAS Level II; Lee Swanson, PE, RCDD; and Thomas Childs, to associate principal within the company's management team. Each has made significant contributions to work procurement and mentoring staff. Fallisgaard has significant experience in the electrical engineering field, serving as project manager and designer on various project types with a focus on local health care projects. He has a long history of supporting private and community facilities, including several with the Department of Social and Health Services. Swanson has more than 20 years of diverse project management, electrical engineering, and predesign studies experience. He specializes in electrical design of health care facilities and has expertise in low- and medium-voltage power design and selective coordination, fault current, and arc flash studies. Childs has more than 25 years of electrical engineering design, lighting and lighting controls design, and project management experience over a wide variety of civic, sports arenas, higher education, commercial, industrial, and health care projects. His expertise includes new construction project definitions and basis of designs for new developments, feasibility studies and remodel designs for existing facilities, and design-build trade partnerships for new construction and remodel projects.

Founding principal at Schreiber Starling Whitehead, Keith Schreiber, is retiring on Nov. 1. Schreiber's decision to retire comes after a 44-year professional career and 34 years since he and Phil Lane founded the firm in November of 1987. Schreiber Starling Whitehead Architects is a team of 18 architects committed to creating public architecture that reflects their clients' visions, respects the fabric of place, and celebrates the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Firm leadership will continue with principals Stephen Starling, Ross Whitehead and Mary Jo Lux. “It has been my great honor and privilege to work together with such a group of talented and dedicated architects. Shannon & Wilson, a geotechnical and environmental consulting firm, announced that Kathy Goetz Troost, LG, Ph.D., has rejoined the company's Seattle office as a senior consultant. Goetz Troost has a doctorate in geology and 42 years of experience conducting in-depth applied geologic studies in Quaternary stratigraphy and applied geological research, engineering geologic consulting, and serving as a liaison between consultants, research scientists, and decision makers. Goetz Troost is an associate teaching professor with the University of Washington Department of Earth and Space Science focusing in the Applied Geosciences Masters program. She is the former director of GeoMapNW, a group that produced highly detailed geological maps and hazard maps that help city planners, builders and homeowners better understand the geology of a particular area. She works closely with numerous agencies, including the United States Geologic Survey, Washington Department of Natural Resources, city of Seattle and King County. She is considered an expert in the geology of the Puget Lowlands and Washington, having published many geological maps and papers about Quaternary geology and geological hazards, including the “Geology of Seattle and the Seattle Area.”

Folsome

Wyn Folsome has joined Parametrix as a senior construction manager based out of Bremerton. He has 31 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors in various roles including construction inspector, resident engineer and project manager. Folsome joins Parametrix from Red Barn Engineering, where he was a senior construction manager and inspector. He has worked for clients such as Sound Transit, Washington State Department of Transportation, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Public Utilities, Bay Area Rapid Transit, and San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Folsome has diverse experience in light rail, shipyard work, high-voltage traction power systems and seismic retrofits, including carbon fiber and epoxy compounds, fiber optics, runway lighting, baggage handling systems, automated fare collection, and single- and multifamily housing. At Parametrix, Folsome joins the firm's community building practice and is currently providing construction management for WSDOT's SR 520 program.

Hart Crowser, a division of Haley & Aldrich, has promoted geotechnical/seismic engineers Brice Exley and Madan Karkee to principal. Both manage transportation, waterfront and high-rise building projects. Exley is a technical leader for the numerical modeling group. He frequently uses advanced one- and two-dimensional seismic models and large three-dimensional models to help manage design and construction risk while removing design conservatism where appropriate. He was the project manager for geotechnical design for the new 850-foot-tall Rainier Square Tower, now the second tallest building in Seattle; the newly constructed Climate Pledge Arena; and the Port of Seattle Terminal 5 berth upgrades currently under construction. Other projects he's helped deliver include Governor's Island Park and Public Space in New York and Seattle's SR 99 bored tunnel. He has presented at multiple national conferences on deep foundations, numerical modeling and slope stability.

Karkee was geotechnical engineering manager for the new ferry terminal in Mukilteo and the Spaghetti Factory redevelopment in Seattle. His high-rise projects include 800 Columbia in Seattle and the Lincoln Square expansion in Bellevue. He has managed major projects for the Port of Seattle, Washington State Department of Transportation and Sound Transit. He has worked in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Nepal. He has previously been a professor at Akita Prefectural University in Japan, and received the Technology Development Award by the Japan Geotechnical Society. Karkee has been involved in field investigations to assess damage and evaluate performance of structures and foundations following major earthquakes including the 1995 Kobe, 1994 Hokkaido-toho-oki and 1993 Kushiro-oki earthquakes in Japan; and the 2001 Bhuj earthquake in India.

Dykeman Architects hired Alison Musch as a project manager, where she is responsible for design and coordination on Housing Team projects. Musch previously worked at Dykeman from June 2016 to September 2019 before relocating to Salt Lake City. Musch acquired her master of architecture degree at Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans and her bachelor's at the University of San Diego. She brings eight years of experience in all phases of design and production on industrial, retail, commercial, education and residential projects.
