Cochran Marine

Cochran Inc. announced the acquisition of its marine division by Vice President Mike Watts. It will now be Watts Marine. The firm has housed Cochran Marine, under the leadership of Watts, for more than a decade. Watts Marine has been in the works since early 2019. Cochran Marine has been a leading provider of shore power systems for the ship industry since its founding in 2005, and has supplied its patented electrical power systems to more than half a dozen ports, ranging from San Diego, CA, to Brooklyn, NY, and into Nova Scotia. Watts, together with the Cochran leadership, has planned a seamless transition for customers and vendors. Watts Marine will continue the installation, management and coordination of shore power.

Parametrix hired six new surveyors to join the firm's offices in Seattle, Puyallup, Bremerton, Portland and Bend. Steve McCaskey, PLS joins the firm's Seattle office as a surveying supervisor, leading the companies Puget Sound survey group. He has 23 years of land surveying experience. McCaskey previously worked at Parametrix from 2009 to 2015, leading the Seattle survey practice. He returns to Parametrix from Encompass where he oversaw the survey department, focused on private clients performing records of survey, platting, American Land Title Association (ALTA) surveys, boundary line adjustment (BLA) surveys, and construction staking.

Chris Robinson, PS, CFedS joins the firm's Portland office as surveying supervisor. He has 15 years of experience in land surveying, including boundary resolution, platting, and overall project management. He comes to Parametrix from Westlake Consultants, Inc. where he served as development survey manager. He is a licensed professional land surveyor in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Arkansas. He is also a Certified Federal Surveyor.

Camden Beeghly joins the firm's Portland office as a surveyor with 7 years of experience. Beeghly comes to Parametrix from Quantum Spatial, Inc. where he served as a survey analyst. Dylan Tucker joins the firm's Bremerton office as a surveyor with 5 years of experience. Tucker comes to Parametrix from Abbie Jones Consulting in Lexington, Kentucky where he served as a field surveyor. Jordon Ford joins the firm's Puyallup office as a surveyor I. Ford comes to Parametrix from Northwest WoodWorks Inc. where he served as a project engineer. Kevin Clarke joins the firm's Bend office as a surveyor with 1 year of experience. Clarke comes to Parametrix from Larry Steele & Associates where he served as a junior party chief.

Welch Comer, a regional engineering firm with offices in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, has promoted two of the firm's principal engineers to vice president, Necia Maiani and Matt Gillis. Necia Maiani, P.E., has worked with Welch Comer for 21 years, specializing in water treatment, wells, distribution systems, water rights, and wastewater treatment and collection. In her new role as vice president, Maiani will continue to serve clients in North Idaho and Eastern Washington but will also be responsible for streamlining the firm's operations and administration departments. She also serves as manager for the company's Spokane office, which opened in October 2021. A graduate of the University of Idaho, Maiani serves on the Kootenai County Aquifer Protection District.

Matt Gillis, P.E., has 22 years of experience as a transportation engineer. He has led Welch Comer's transportation group since 2006, helping clients and staff navigate high-profile and complex projects involving multiple jurisdictions, utilities, funding and public involvement. In his new role, Gillis will lead business development and market expansion efforts for the firm. The University of Idaho graduate is a longtime resident of Post Falls.

Cone Architecture promoted Summer McEneny to principal and Emily Terzic to project manager. Cone also hired Tori Haynes, Hailey Helms, and Connor Stein as project designers. McEneny is a licensed architect in Washington and North Carolina and earned a BArch from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She joined Cone in 2016, leads the design and management of a wide variety of residential and mixed-use projects, and is managing Cone Architecture’s office in Charlotte, NC. Terzic earned a MArch from the University of Washington and has over 6 years of multifamily, mixed use, and tenant improvement experience. Cone?provides?architectural design, planning, project management, and construction administration services.

The Miller Hull Partnership announced its newest principal, Danielle Buttacavoli. Buttacavoli joins the Miller Hull San Diego studio with nearly 20 years of experience designing dynamic and equitable spaces as an architect, urban designer, and community planner. Her work spans a wide array of sectors such as affordable housing, education, multifamily, civic, and mixed-use.

PH Consulting LLC, a traffic engineering firm serving clients in both the public and private sectors, has hired Ken Lauzen, PE, as principal and senior project manager. He joins the PH consulting team with over 20 years of engineering expertise. Lauzen is a civil engineering graduate from the University of Washington. At PH Consulting, he will apply his experience to the full suite of design, planning, and engineering services offered by the firm.

Weisman Design Group announced the promotion of four team members: Taber Jossi Caton, Dorte Martinez, Abby Jones, and Kaylin Cline. Caton has been promoted to principal, with over 20 years' experience in multi-disciplinary project management, construction administration, nonprofit and public design. With over ten years at WDG, Martinez has been promoted to chief financial officer. Her role will continue to focus on financial management and fostering strong company culture that promotes communication, planning, individuality, and accountability. Jones and Cline have been promoted to associates.

Akana

Akana was recognized as one of Bechtel Corporation's top subcontractors for the companies work on the US Army Pueblo Chemical Agent Pilot Plant Project in Colorado. Akana supported Bechtel by providing independent third-party quality assurance audits of facility changes required to process a new munition type through the plant. Akana was able to quickly field a team of chemical agent processing experts to complete the audit and was successful in getting state approval to begin operations. Akana is a Native American owned professional services firm helping clients plan, design, engineer and manage projects in the built environment.
